backup android tablet to mac

Hi,

I have a android tablet that I need to return to the manufacturer for replacement (the volume + key doesnt work). Since it is only a few weeks old, I understand from the retailer that I will receive a new unit. I would like to do a back up of the current unit so that I can reset to factory settings and then just restore my apps and settings on the new tablet.

My only frame of reference with this type of stuff is with my iPhone/macbook via iTunes. When my old iPhone 4 was stolen I just plugged my replacement in and ran a restore from iTunes and hey presto.

How do I do this with the tablet? I dont want to flash it (I dont know what the repercussions would be with the retailer).

If it is a Samsung tablet you can use the Samsung Kies software for Mac

Otherwise, you can use the Ultimate Backup Tool (no rooting required). Download from here.

I think you can backup to Google Drive if you have a Nexus.
