I'll take a hit this time :p Everyone is so busy blaming other cars but how often do we check ourselves?

I'm on William Nicol driving towards Monte Casino early morning when I realize my GPS is showing to go another way (I had audio off). Almost at the same time I notice a ridiculous queue of cars up front. I'm in the center lane and I've got a small window to take a left turn onto Witkoppen which is a dedicated lane still showing a broken line. I take it. I indicate, check, change lanes, check again, change lanes again. But somehow despite looking at blind side and mirror twice, which I do recall, I did not see the car there - I actually don't know how I missed it. So I obviously cut him/her off. Fortunately I never turn aggressively so it was rather slow motion.

Rightly so the other driver blasts me with his/her hooter, although they held it down for a good 10 seconds while I was using hazards to apologize. Oh well :/

Thought about it afterwards and 2 things, I did feel a little tired and I was also changing lanes too quick from a wider than normal angle. So lesson learned.

GABS are worse than taxis... Especially in Woodstock, where I spend a whole lot of time. I'm considering buying a Challenger 2 to try and thin them out a little bit.

First morning mist in a long time, many drivers have obviously forgotten how to turn their lights on :/
One lady in particular took special offence when asked to put down her phone and turn her lights on. Perhaps she feels the light from her phone shining on her face was enough for other road users to see her?

There's a circle near Pineslopes Spar (The Straight Ave and Forest Rd).

If coming from Sunset Ave side along Forest Rd and you want to turn right into The Straight there's two lanes that end at the circle.

The left lane has an arrow that specifically shows left or straight only. Only those cars in the right lane are given an arrow to turn right at the circle as the circle itself narrows without split lanes.

But I often see people turning right from the left lane :( And this morning I had to be so awake else I'd have coasted into a car on my left blindside. As a result I had to choose the wrong lane going into The Straight and then make a plan to get left again (Fortunately this time there was a slow truck providing me a gap).

It's just irritating as I feel these people know what they're doing but will push in like that anyway.

Off-topic, but looking at the Streetview capture, don't you folks on the wrong side of the Huguenot Tunnel maintain your roads?

This person was driving down the road, opened the door through out a macdonalds packet and then carried in

In hindsight, this may not have been the smartest thing to do given the propensity for road-rage by some elements, but I just cannot stand the litter culture in South Africa. If you lack the ability to process thought past the point of “who is going to pick that up?” I really don’t have time for you.

What you won’t see given the angle of the dash-cam is the driver taunting me, shortly after I returned his rubbish, by holding the packet out the window again and laughing. He eventually gave up and kept his trash to himself.

Watched a citi golf spin out on the N1 South near Soweto yesterday.

Clown in front of me slammed on brakes in order to take an off ramp - I slowed down in plenty time the golf behind me clearly wasn't paying attention slammed on brakes and then decided to swerve out at the same time - he ended up diagonally across two lanes with other cars coming towards him.

Now I know what the R means......RETARD.

This idiot was driving down a painted island section of the road at high speed. This island has several turns off sections.

This idiot cause a few cars to swerve out of these turning lanes because he was in such a hurry.

Also doesn't know what indicators are for. This Lane turns to the right

The story of CK 34903

Yes, I waited patiently as this driver reversed their car into the loading bay at Spar in Malmesbury. Yes, I know that extra 20 meters you would have to walk if you parked in a normal parking bay like the rest of us would probably have killed you. No, you did not make it out of Spar and Tops any faster than I did. Yes, I there was no one behind me when I started to reverse out of my parking bay (20 minutes later) and yes, when you came speeding around the corner I do expect you to wait for me to finish reversing and not hoot your horn. No, I would not wait for you to streak past. Yes, I saw the pedestrians walking across the exit of the parking area and waited for them. No, you should not have hooted your horn at the last few that went behind my car and in front of yours.

Yes, you own a GTI.
No, you do not own the road.

Maybe get a life an not stop living at the end of Bokomo road in Malmesbury.... Those houses cost way less than a GTI.
