Bad Driving thread

Blue tooth kit or connection to radio.

Phone in boot. 1 button to answer. Can't read messages even if you want to.

I love taking pictures and videos while driving or riding. Just never text or talk on your phone while driving, that kills.

There was this guy too. HZC 153 EC. Notice the solid double barrier line

In hindsight he could have just waited another 5 seconds for the road marking to indicate that he was allowed to overtake but Mr Polo Vivo was too much in a hurry it seems

Why is there a double line anyways? Looks like a long straight. I also see the double line is ending a few meters ahead of you. Don't see the issue here.

I'm guilty of overtaking on double lines. Mostly due to people not driving the speed limit. Just because some engineer thought 16 years ago a double line has to be there, doesn't make it any safer.

Anyhow, if a vivo overtakes tou, you must've been going slow :D

With the rain, expect more bad drivers in Gauteng today!

This portion of road was between Grahamstown and PE and is pretty notorious for being a bit on the dangerous side. There is also a speed trap up most days of the week down the road around the bend so I err to the side of caution (100 kph zone which I stick to religiously). The Vivo was in a hurry and I estimate he was going about 130 - 140kph at the time.

I think the reason for the double barrier line is because the oncoming lane merges from two lanes into one which also causes hassles as people from that direction also regularly swing out and overtake slower cars or trucks even with oncoming traffic.

Also, genetic might lynch you for the bolded bit :D

Fair enough :)

Didn't know the vivo could do 140 :D

traffic so bad i had to turn back and go home, people are absolute morons when it rains, coming from the north (randburg) into sandton was impossible, on a single lane i had taxis on the oncoming lane trying to beat the line

You people should complain less about cape town drivers, driving in Pretoria now, could just as well have been cape town. Same ****, only added dead traffic lights and lots of broken down cars on the highways.

Honestly feel our roads have become lawless, driving on oncoming lanes have become a daily practice and not just for taxis.

Normal cars on the road now just drive without regard for other users

i had a guy in a merc with his wife and kids in the car cut me off from the oncoming lane this morning, all because he wasnt patient enough to wait in line.

its insane, i dont even fight back anymore but i cant help but feel something drastic needs to be done to enforce the rules on the road especially in residential areas.

Sad but true. Nowadays one has to think for the other three or four people around you as well.

Finally got my new Mini 0806S Dashcam.

Didn't take long to gather some fresh footage...

That last one is classic :D

I see this type of driving is pretty common down here among Audi and VW drivers, and to an extend Fortuner and Ranger pilots too

Nice footage :)

That last overtake was pretty insane, so much that can go wrong there, for what gain? I really don't understand such obnoxious behaviour.

Only had the new cam for a couple of days, but very happy with it.
