And bad Google! Go to your server room. The wrapper does not give you much details about the competition, forcing you to go to www.kitkat.co.za (Ooh. I see what they are trying to do there).

But then you have to sms the last 4 digits of the barcode to *120*548528# to enter.
Except that does not work - further reading of the terms and conditions (Yes. A IT company forcing you to read the ToC! :wtf - shows that it is actually *120*548528*last 4 digits of barcode# to enter.

Oops.

And yes. I did not win.

TL;DR: The instructions on the packaging are wrong/incomplete, and require the entrant to surf around to find out how to enter.

I went through the same process as above to figure out what to actually send, before finding this thread.

I'm not sure why people are finding this so hard. I successfully entered the first time around. It said I did not win.

So either the OP was confused/did not read properly or there was an initial error on their website.

The instructions printed on the packing or whatever omitted the details about the barcode, as explained above. That's what was so hard about it.

You don't need that. You just need to follow the simple instructions, which says to go to the website. Ideally, all the info would be on the wrapper, but they just say to go to the website, which contains all the details.

That's the point. The instructions (and website) have been updated to indicate that the bar-code should be appended to the number. That was not initially indicated in the instructions (early September 2013).
