Thanks will have a look! Haven't touched sourdough in a long time. I still do loads of brioche and mosbolletjies (the real ones with grape must as I have a starter).

I absolutely love brioche style breads!

On a more experimental note I sacrificed the other boule and decided to bake it directly in the convection oven without the Dutch Oven pot and the result is actually far more shocking than I expected.

Completely inconsistent heat distribution.

Exact same time, same oven and everything.

Completely dark on the one side that was the back I think and I scored it a bit differently but completely blew out the side instead of springing up.

First one looks perfect, congrats. Second one doesn't look great but I'm sure it tastes good.

Yeah Dutch oven helps loads. Still yummy nonetheless!

Need to bake some sourdough again haven't in what feels like forever

Yeah I didn’t expect it to be great, but not this bad.

Like you say tasted just fine although a bit dense.

My Le Creuset pot investment doing really well.

The moment their bread oven goes on 40% off sale I’m there.

Bread Oven????

Wish I hadn't seen that but I did and I checked it out. What do you think these measurements mean? 32.5 diameter and 25.1 high? Whats the 17.6?
  • Dimensions: 32.5cm L x 25.1cm W x 17.6cm H
  • Weight: 4.41kg
  • Capacity: 1.6L

1.6 L doesn't seem very big.

Its 17.6 cm high. 25.1 is the width.

Should work for smaller loaves.

I’m guessing the length is handle to handle and the others are the internal dimension.

Considering I use a 20cm Le Creuset pot now which fits my boules perfectly it should be more than big enough, it looks quite large in the videos I checked out.

For me it will come down to whether I buy this or the KitchenAid one.

25cm

I think Yuppiechef is confused, there is no way it can be 1.8L if my 20cm pot is 2.4L

DIMENSIONS: 44.3cm x 29.9cm x 5.3cm x 3.6cm(LxWxHxD)

Can get a better look here.

Maybe they meant 16L which is pretty big?

25.1cm x 25.1cm x 17.6cm = 14 liters
