Baldur's Gate 3

I disagree given that its an incredibly common problem and happens to me only when playing this game. On an i5-13500 with 32GB RAM and a 3060Ti, it shouldnt be occuring.
My guess is the game is working your PC hard so it's getting hot, thus ramping your fans to keep it cool and making noise.
You could adjust your GPU fan curve using MSI Afterburner which may help.

Barely any noise from my Ryzen 5 5600, 32GB ram and 3070ti, though I've heard Intel is the new heaters :-), perhaps get a better cooler?

From the Digital Foundry review they said the game can be very CPU heavy, which isn't a strange thing. Lots of tasks on a PC can stress a CPU for prolonged periods. If the PC has a cheap basic CPU cooler, thermal contact issues, thermal paste issues, restricted airflow, etc. you'll have loud CPU fans regardless of what's stressing the CPU.

Thanks I got and installed Afterburner specifically to investigate this issue and the GPU fans dont appear to be too taxed based on what its telling me leading me to believe its specifically CPU related.

Could well be. CoreTemp or HWINFO will be able to show you CPU temps and fan speeds and you can diagnose what's going on from there. What CPU cooler do you have, is it the stock Intel one?

Yeah it is the stock cooler so would probably be the first thing to address. Even so I was 'testing' it and it said max CPU heat (via HWInfo) was 88C, which is probably slightly high, but the average was mid 70's. So its weird. I wouldnt call that a bad temperature range that results in mega fan activity. testing continues.

Really all depends on the fan curve. You'll probably find that its fairly flat for most of the temp range with a sharp spike as 75. A more gradual fan curve would help, but a better cooler is really what you need.

DeepCool AK620 all the way.

I noticed the same on my 5600x, same GPU and ram as you. It's not too bad though, but also the only game it does it on. My laptop sounds likes a jet engine when I play it on there, but that's to be expected I guess.

Noob move, never
Knock a boss off a cliff, always kill and loot them
Not into a chasm, just off a (pretty high) bridge / overpass. Helped me in the fight, too - cos it took her two turns to get back up to me by which time I dropped a glyph of warding to incinerate her and a lackey when they came back up the stairs.

Ok on my Ally it does push temps up to 85

Game runs fine, ultra setting on my 1080ti without any noise. Ram usage 25% and cpu usage at around 40%.

Go liquid
My 5600x Never goes above 40

So Act 1 is soooo huge, I am almost level 6 just by act 1 alone. Only working my way through the Monastery now, but will probably go finish off the Grymforge stuff as well, as I found the forge, but also got to figure out that whole section of levers and bridges. I got to the forge by misty step, feather fall, greater vaulting :-)

Yeah man Act1 is fantastic. Probably the best out of the 3, but perfect worldbuilding imho.

I'm 145hrs in and still not finished with the game. It's fascinating how different everyone's stories play out - especially with who they keep in their party. I messed up the grove by accident and never even got to recruit Wyll or Karlach. But I did turn her severed head in as a bounty for a cool sword, so there's that I guess. Apparently she's the coolest party member.

She is pretty cool, yup my buddy is also playing BG3 he started about last week sometime, he's playing a Barb of some sorts.
He was watching me play on Saturday and he's like how are you so equipped with cool gear, how is your party equipped with cool gear, but your HP is so low. I play a arcane trickster rogue :-) so my stuff is more talking more cunniving, his way is more smashy smash.
Karlach is pretty cool, so is Wyll, I can't recruit the Drow though cause she's currently laying naked in the Goblin inner sanctum as a message.
