Baldur's Gate 3

The unfortunate truth is there's so many ways to skin a cat if it's hard it's because you chose it that way - or didn't know how to make it easier
Like masquerading as drow,or poisoning their food
Wait you could poison their food??? Damn

Yeah, I did it the hard way - walked to the last boss and started killing. By the time I got outside I really needed a rest, but figured I'd rather continue my murderous spree than to take another exit and come back later.

Act 3 is easy till it is not
There are a lot of boss level fights
Not naming them for spoilers sake
I've done some, without much issues. But that brings us back to subjectivity and fights often being as hard as you make them. E.g. Unstoppable can make a fight pretty tricky. If you know how to counter it, though, the same fight becomes pretty easy.

Use the environment, freeze water, blood, use grease :)

So I haven't played Diablo 4 other than the Open Beta before launch, or Hogwarts Legacy. I've just started a bit of Starfield. I can't imagine how any of those games is going to beat out BG3 as Game of the Year. It's truly an awesome experience, and as I tired old gamer, I can appreciate how rare those are in this day and age. It's superb.

Ya, I've played D4, Hogwarts Legacy and currently busy with Starfield - really enjoyed/enjoying them all. But BG3 tops them all, I reckon.

Another question, when I finished creating my character to start the game, it asked me to create a second character who/where is it?

110%, I am having to track back and build up XP.. characters are only just level 10, and cant handle 2 of the encounters no matter how many redo's :)

What is your party setup? Is this the first game of this genre that you're playing?

Party setup? Like who is in my party?

Currently me, Shadowheart, the lizard chick and the druid.

Now im trying to kill all the goblin leaders but im getting fukked up. 4 people vs like 10 enemies and spiders at once.

I'm guessing you're trying to kill a certain high priestess?

So a few general tips:
  1. Hover your mouse over an enemy and press "T". That will show you the enemy stats and give more information about buffs and debuffs. This specific lady has 18 Wisdom, and only 12 Dex. This means that she has a high chance of avoiding damage from e.g. spells that saves on Wisdom (e.g. Tasha's Hideous Laughter). It is easier to damage her with spells that has Dex saves, e.g. Sacred Flame.
  2. Do you have the Great Weapon Master: All In feat for your lizard lady? That feat increases damage, but reduced your chance of actually getting in a hit. So if your hit chance is low (I usually look at anything below 70%), either use Superiority Die with Precision Attack to increase your chances of getting in a hit, or go to the Passives menu and toggle off Great Weapon Master. Then, when you get Advantage, you can toggle Great Weapon Master on again.
  3. Always look at whether you can use your environment to your advantage. Sometimes a fireball will damage one enemy for 5 dmg. The same fireball, when hitting the rope a chandelier is hanging from, could drop the chandelier on the enemies' below the chandelier's heads, spilling fire all over the place. Or maybe it will provide that last little bit of a push a statue need to fall on an archer's head. Or it could toggle a lever to open a cage door, releasing wild beasts upon your enemies (well, and upon you).
  4. Don't try to min/max too much, unless you really know the mechanics very well. My wizard is walking around with Gloves of Strength. Not ideal for spell-casting, but nobody even tries pushing her off cliffs anymore.
  5. Visit Withers. Respec, play around. Shadowheart's default setup isn't very good - you can get much more joy from her by respeccing.
  6. Look carefully at your team's functions in combat. What are their roles, what do you use them for? In my group my Wizard (TAV) is used mostly for crowd control and AoE damage. She also breaks Concentration using Magic Missile. Shadowheart either use Sanctuary with Crusader's Mantle to buff my lizard lady (for long, drawn-out fights), or Spirit Guardians to help kill things faster (great against large numbers of enemies). Lae'zel bashes enemies on their heads with a greatsword. I made sure that she has good Initiative so that she can pull and tank enemies. Then I have one flex spot that I use for whatever companion's quest I'm busy with. Usually I'd fill it with Gale; it is not combat optimal, but I love the utility of having two wizards.
  7. If you can summon things, do. Everything hit by an enemy instead of yourself makes the fight easier. Your cute kitten familiar is a 1-turn tank, at least.
Fight specific tips:
You can visit the spiders before the fight. Chat to them, and set them free. Do it right, and you have spider allies for the fight, rather than enemies. The statues can fall, and I think you can bump the over with fireballs. Not sure - I wasn't the one bumping them in my fight; I was sad to be on the receiving end of that little mechanic. Chandeliers can fall, I killed quite a few goblins with them.

The spiders in the goblin camp? All I did was position myself in front of each goblin close to the edges, went into turn based mode and just pushed them all off, 3 were down in seconds.
Another hint, separate team members, don't always keep them grouped up, position rogues near backs, or high up, if you can't get high up, have your strongest carry 3 crates, drop the crates, have the range hitters climb them, instant advantage.
Position rogues around the backs of opponents, in shadows, also remember things like blood, water can be frozen or electrified :-). Also grease is great for 2 reasons, throw it and it causes a lot of characters to slip, if they don't set it on fire.

I'm at the moonrise towers for the Ketheric Thorm fight. Legit impossible at the moment.

People suggest hoarding smoke powder barrels throw them then gg, but I can't leave the map to go back to another area and get some.

My team is me (ranger), shadow heart, githyanki lady and Karlach.

Using disarm on the spider guy seems to help somewhat.
