Battle over iBurst tower heats up

iBurst further said that her allegation that the mast impacts on the commercial value of her property is incorrect and that the property valuer’s report states that the mast has no impact on property values.

Is that view according to ibust, or according to a real estate company that tries to sell a house next to those towers?

What potential buyer would buy a house right smack next to such an unsightly thing?

If you want good signal, buy a few houses down the lane, not right next to the bloody thing!

MyBB, nothing else to report on?

At the risk of a derailment... IBurst has stated that good signal strength does not equate to good service. So, I guess that even then, it is not a positive either...

I have friends who have iBurst, what is their reception like? - Excellent.
Does it work well? -NO! Excellent as in your 95% to 100%. I have been through this a 100 times on the forum. That is quantity not quality.
PM me for instructions in signal finding.

It is unsightly yes...but the BTS has to go somewhere. No BTS no signal. U see this very often, specially with Vodacom and im sure with MTN too. They want to erect a new BTS because people complaining about bad signal. Then the people reject it cause they dont want BTS close to them. Nothing can be done about the bad signal so then they complain a bit more :)

Off with their heads I say ..... Had Iburst for a while pathetic at best I can't believe this company still actually exists and makes a profit.

And then you want to offer them wired services but the cable must not go under THEIR driveway or pavement.

'have', 'cake', 'eat' - Make a sentence :p

I am also a Craigavon resident that has not been informed properly about the erection of the iBurst tower. It is extremely unsightly and as many of the other residents I am just as concerned about the health issues and devaluation of our properties.

what health issuses? clearly your are not a iburst subscriber.

So if you're not an iBurst subscriber you're not allowed to bitch about the towers?

no by all means, i don't personally like iburst at all, but it's just strange the way people complain sometime.

No, some people with iburst complain about bad signal and then some non iburst using people complain about the tower, its not like everyone uses iburst.

I think less people complain about substations and electricity wires and water reservoirs and roads since everyone uses those...

@ xrapdx......if you have any kind of wireless device, cellphone or modem....then NO....you are not allowed to bitch! :) (kidding) hehe

I do - but I don't want one of the towers next to my house - its that simple. I'd actually rather not have signal than a tower next to my house.

I wouldn't buy a house with a tower near/next to it - and I certainly wouldn't stand for them building one near my house... its quite obvious that it will devalue the property.

Would anyone here honestly buy a house with a helluva huge tower in, or next to it? I mean if the place was bought today for R1m, and a tower went up tomorrow next to it - do you think it'd still sell for R1m?
