And at ~40-60Mb an hour, that's going to be one really expensive connection as well!

Man what a jol!
I was playing on the SGS servers but I "lost connection" a couple times. Sent to desktop with an error and it was trying to reconnect.
Why the hell would it do that?? Its a perm connection.
Anyway, I had a good couple rounds when team leaders issued orders. Total pwnge when squads work together.
I am still annoyed with one thing in BF2...I had the Barrett50 and a guy was so close it almost filled up the whole screen. I shot him square in the chest and he just shook it off and drilled me with his g36!
Its soo crap, that thing is like 2m longs and is used against armoured cars and walls!!
I have Allied Intent but couldnt find any local servers...do you guys know of any realism mods that are played locally???

The prob you have with Crash to Desktop.... you need to reinstall the full patch. Not the incremental one. This is the advise I got. Seems to work.

The game still runs like when you Alt+tab. Its just that it looses connection and then the desktop prompt comes up which kicks me to desktop.
i can go in again but obviously Im kicked the game I was in.
I just cant understand why it looses connection in the first place.

Patch 1.3 was a classic EA patch. It causes random crashes at the servers side.

I just got my new 600GT and must say that the difference between that and the 5700 i was running is unbeleivable. (Pity I had to stick with the AGP though)
1024*768 with mostly medium settings seems to be working out great.
So watch out dudez - I can see more clearly now.... LOL - i onder if i could do anything abouot my flying and drop roll fire now!

PS: where can i download the mod that's running on server 1 or 2 - i forgot the name. Any help would be appreciated.

i think your problem mainly was that you where very defensive
leave to many ppl defending 1 important point
almost the whole of bfc is playing bf 2142 now
