Battlefield 4 and 8ta

Yip, listen to everyone. I canned my 8ta and went back to Adsl due to the inconsistency when playing bf3. Looks like when on 8ta i was getting to much packet loss causing all my issues and my dongle was direct line of sight to the tower and it was under 1km away. ADSL FTW.
 
No lines and cant get lines because they steal it. Will have to wait for LTE

LTE's latency is superior to HSPA+, but I will still not consider it as a premium online gaming solution.

ok guys, plz listern to me,, 8ta is perfect for fps.. on the servers which I can connect to I get 30-40 ms. with no lag or packet loss. Maybe the occasional server spike but nothing more...

So please leave your LTE and ADSL solutions out of the god damn thread. the issues isnt latency or packet loss..

WHY DO YOU GUYS TROLL THIS AND CHANGE THE TOPIC? IF you cant take the time to read the actaul thread then you can fck off...

THE ISSUE IS THAT WITH SERVERS ON A PORT HIGHER THAN :30000 NO PING IS SHOWED....... LOwer than 30000 ping shows perfectly and no ping issues..

HEre is an expample of a server with no ping 152.111.192.241:30000 (mweb)

What I want is 8TA fix the routing tables or forward these ports... Nothing more and nothing less.

My ping on 8ta is lower than some adsl lines. so please for the love of gaming stop giving me your 2cents on your opinions as im not asking for opinions but a fix from 8ta..

I'm having the same problem and know of three others as well.

Does anyone have a fix or workaround?
 
Can Telkom please respond? I am getting tired of this. Can't play on any server with port 30000.

Hi all,

I am having the same issue and have been since I got this Telkom Mobile package (10GB + 10GB with Huaweii B593 LTE Router/Modem)

I have tried all port forwarding tricks, customizing settings in Origin and BF4, customizing my router settings and every other possible avenue. I even went to the Telkom Direct store to see if I needed an Unrestricted APN which worked on my Vodacom SIM but Telkom Mobile/8ta doesn't have any APN restrictions to start with.

This is the most frustrating issue I have, since it is only for BF4 and no other games. I can't connect to any servers that don't display a ping in Server Browser, and there are only a few servers displaying pings. Every time I reset my router, I can see about 12 servers' pings, but within 5 minutes I can only see 3 or less (and they're usually empty). Also, if I do manage to get into a game, every time a round ends, I get disconnected at the start of the next map and am unable to join again.

Telkom Rep, please assist as I see you have finally PM'd some users.


PS To all the people trolling about ADSL, this line has outperformed every ADSL line I've ever had before:

43mbps download / 8mbps upload on speedtest.net

30ms ping / 2ms Jitter / NO PACKET LOSS on pingtest.net
 
This is why I moved over to AfriHost, So much more value for money and great service, 8ta gets no signal where I stay yet MTN gets full signal inside my house, I have to put my 8ta dongle in the window just to get 3/4 bars, and it's not even stable then.

EDIT: AfriHost uses MTN as theri mobile backbone, I used a friends MiFi, the speed test gave 11mbps down and 5 mbps up. :wtf:

Exact same experience for me, I am on the HomeOffice LTE 50Gb.

I have noticed that when I get disconnected from a room it is because the port has jumped to 30000 for local servers and in the 10000 range for international servers. I then have no ping to that room and I am unable to join again.

Performance wise, for the servers that work, it is a real pleasure. Europe pings are between 190-230 and local is 20-50.
