BBM for Android: new version released

Different people have different wants and needs. That's not rocket science. While some will prefer BBM, some will prefer Whatsapp. The fact that I have to grant permission to someone before they can chat to me and send me messages/view my profile, is enough for me to choose BBM over Whatsapp. Also, I find BBM to be much more social. The recent updates is pretty cool. This might just be my experience but people tend to update their BBM profile pics and status messages much more than they would on Whatsapp.

I agree with the bolded statements. my contacts are constantly changing profile pictures and statuses, yet None of them do so on whatsapp.

That's because we are not interested in those constant updates! :p

Is there any way to turn them off? I have managed to get the music ones off but that's about it.

I remember BBM for BB having that setting but not the one on Android. Perhaps just not go to the recent updates section, is it that difficult to ignore? Would be annoying if it came up as a notification, but it doesn't seem to work that way (I got BBM on S3).
