BBM for Android: new version released

I still have no one to use it with.
A lot of my whatsapp contacts on BBM now - but everyone still keeps using whatsapp. Sigh...
 
Still can't download it via the bbm.com link. Unable to load the page all week...

EDIT: tried it again, and it took me to the Play Store. :p

Lol this, downloaded it, and was like k now what, then realised, forever alone.
 
BBM - OH YEAH!!!!! ... or wait ... what am I missing?

So I got it to see what the hype is all about. Installed, typed in my e-mail address, got into the thing, registered, got used to the interface ... WhatsApp'd everyone I knew who had/has a blackberry and got one bite. So we started to chat... I realised it is just another interface to do exactly the same as on WhatsApp. However it was less enjoyable than WhatsApp since WhatsApp have more conversations above the keyboard. This was annoying. So I installed the same on the Nexus 7. The only difference being that now I have to use a new pin for the tablet and you can not link the two pins in any way to receive the same messages on both devices and at least I could see the conversation above the keyboard. This is when I thought "Now we are cooking with gas!". But I was wrong...

So to all of you who created this storm in a teacup, what the hell is so exiting about BBM? The friend I chatted with and I found ourselves continuing our conversation on WhatsApp. So please tell me - what am I missing? Why is there such a big hype about BBM?

My verdict (and I will keep it short): Not worth the data cost of the download. (Unless someone can explain to me why it is)
 
Yeah it's been a few days and my bbm hype has faded fast. Unless they release something spectacular I will be uninstalling it pretty soon.

does bbm only work on Android 4.0 and up?

Have you tried just getting the apk and install it? That's what I did to get it working on the N7
