Hi guys I have been accepted to study a BCOM informatics degree at UJ and a BSC IT Computer Science and Mathematical Statistics at UFS. I am planning on going abroad to live and work in Australia( Permanent residency VISA) once I have finished my degree so I want to know which degree is best for me to get a job in Australia ?

The material in the second one is more future proof, with considerably less supply of talent than demand. It’s also harder though (not surprisingly). I don’t know if there’s a difference between the quality of education between the two universities. My expectation is that even if there is, it’s probably not on the radar of whoever is making the visa decision.

As an FYI, I don’t think an honours degree is as important for Australia, but it can make a difference for the UK, and would be mandatory for the USA.

Thank you so much I guess I will take the UFS because I need something that will give me a job in the end. I'll try doing the honours here because the cost is much cheaper when compared to universities abroad. I can do my masters overseas if I plan on on furthering my studies.
