Beating stops rugby match

1) Rugby Players and Rugby Fans aren't usually the sharpest tools in the shed, we all know that.

2) The less intelligent a person is, the more likely they are to be racist.

Put 2 and 2 together gents.

I would agree with you but this incident is about race. Edenvale are a bunch of hooligans and they probably would have turned it into a brawl regardless, but they still turned it into a racial thing though. I agree that Edenvale attacking another team would not get much news but these idiots didn't just attack Soweto they also made it clear that they are racists, as evidenced by the language used.

ghoti will tell you that just because somebody is using racist slurs while beating you over the head does not necessarily mean he's racist.

Ghoti doesn't know what he is talking about. There's an old saying that if something looks like a dog, smells like a dog and barks like a dog, then there is a good chance that it's a dog.
 
doubt that it's really a racial issue.

I've seen hundreds of losing teams start fights during the last 10 minutes.
It happens so much it's almost "normal".

I think it's really admirable that more black people are playing rugby and I hope we have many more black rugby teams forming. What's happened here goes way beyond bad sportsmanship and is just plain racial hatred.

I don't condone what's happened here one li'l bit but what I do find interesting is that right now there are 360 comments on the sowetan article expressing complete outrage (and far worse) but on the other brutal 364 days of the year where people are robbed, raped and murdered, well then the only sound you hear from this same peanut gallery is that of crickets chirping.
