Aphids!

Doesn't look pretty, but I moved my mint from the container to the ground. I'm gonna dedicate this small patch to mint. It was a good thing too, cos when I emptied out the container, I could see how they were fighting each in the soil.

how do you guys keep your dogs out of your gardens? my wife is gonna kill me and the dog. in summer he is laying in the sand. im assuming its cooler. he has killed 2 granadila plants. wife is far from impressed.

so need to keep him off the sand. he has a separate sheltered place and a kennel but just wants to be in the sand.

I planted them in April this year. They overwintered and if the pic wasn't so blurry you would see small green pepadews on them.

Where did u get the pepadew seedlings?

Bought a small plant earlier this year . It gave me about 10 peppadews . Germinated the seeds in my home made temperature controlled shoe box (poped seeds in some paper towels) when i see a root forming i put seed in trays

Where do you find Macadamia nut seeds and/or seedlings?

I bought Macadamia nuts in their shells.

Then I planted the whole nut in its shell. I ground the shell a bit on a bench grinder, because the shell is to thick and to hard to let the water come through to the seed inside. I then plated it in a pot, kept it moist and I sprouted.

I just planted mine directly into the soil.

Where did u buy the original plant?

How do u eat the peppadews? I want to try and pickle mine.

Found it in a nursery here in port Elizabeth
Tried them as is (took out the seeds)
There seems to be lots of pickling instructions on net
Was thinking to try a peperdew popper instead jalapeño popper

I usually eat them (When I buy the pickled one in store) with feta inside them! It's delicious!

I just left mine to grow no topping.

I am really excited about the blue and raspberries! Can't wait for my 1st fruit!

Check this link out for the blueberries: http://therainqueen.com/category/blueberries/

And just note you need 2 different varieties of blueberries because the need to cross-pollinate, I didn't know this until after I bought mine. (Bought it at Heckers Nursery in Boksburg/Benoni)

I am trying to find a different variety now.

Thanks, I didn't know this.

Thanks, I didn't know this.

The guy at the nursery said it's not really necessary but if have read up on a few places that said that it needs cross pollination. The variety I bought is a "Rabbiteye - Brightwell"

*EDIT.

What I read also said that with cross pollination you will get much more and better quality fruits.
