Nice
Guy the WBS provided arial worked for me! Donno why you all say its junk, its +10db, maybe you just didn't spend enough time finding the correct placement and direction (its quite fiddly).
I can't say the antennae didn't work for me, I placed it at the top of our warehouse, which on a little bit of hill - so its helped me get 100%/"5 dot" signal.
However, thats not whats in question here - I have the antennae and it hasnt helped my speed after the cap.
Lets admit it - South Africans are still very much used to 56K - should we be capped to (100% useable) 64k - I think 100% of us would be extremely happy, and would be able to live with our 'cap' until the start of the new month. Thats why WBS has to make the speed after the cap unusable so that users can purchase more bandwidth. I think its unfair and that clients should receive on the promises made to them - it is after all what we're paying for.
Personally - I don't think that this issue will ever be resolved - its one of those "peace around the world" requests; possible just not probable. Everyone is driven by money and especially once they get a taste of it (and see that they can get away with it) - they carry on milking everyone more and more. WBS will carry on with their course, making capped speed unusable and charging clients for bandwidth.
The standard SMB's that dont even hit their cap (probably 3GB would be sufficient) can live and will be mostly happy with their product; whereas everyone else who actually wants more from their product will either have to restrain themselves from using all their bandwidth or fork out the extra money to get some extra Gigs.
At the end of the day - if there were enough dedicated fed up people - it could be said that something could be done. However, 95% of the general population is all for complaining but not for action; whatever their issue might be [lazy, scared, etc.] If anything, we can see from history that the rest of that 95% can only be swayed to the side of the 5% should their frustration reach a critical level. Due to the nature of the problem, that would probably never happen. [Look at the Telkom abuse, its far worse than the whole cap theory of WBS - yet its been years apon years, and their still hasn't been anything strong enough from the public.]
