Best car for a Student

I'm of the opposite opinion, I don't like that the Vivo has an ancient engine, that many of them don't have ABS because it was optional until not that long ago and that they are so easy to steal.

The Etios, while not an awesome car, doesn't have any of those problems and it even costs less.

Each to his own I guess. I wouldn't buy either one to be honest. Vw Up! is a way better car. Although not sure if you can get one for around R100 000.

3,5 & 6 would best options
Honda, Opel and Renault are also good options with higher spec than the 1 & 2 in your list. (Opel AC in older models is pretty k@k and once it gives hassles it'll be a nightmare)
1&2 are also higher theft risks especially 1 (Both very good cars but the risk and spec's are bad)

And there goes my list. Did not take one of them. Bought her a Fiat 500. Did intensive research on this little miggie. Rated very high although Im not a Fiat fan.

7 Airbags for such a little car. Very light on fuel and drives like a dream. Plus very funky and a real fashion statement.

Othet dealer told me that its a very nice car but that I would struggle to resell it.

Mmmm... no probs. Not thinking of reselling it as it must last her the 5 years at varsity... and she's over the moon about little "Bessie". Ferrarri RED!!!!

Thank you all for your inputs.

Vroooooom!!!@@

Nice choice.

What spec & costing for interest sake?

Its the 1.2 Pop model. 2011 but registered in Jan 2012.Smash and grab done with yearly services done. Mags fitted. Car in mint condition. 63 000 km.
Its got Abs brakes and all the bells and whistles. Paid a very reasonable price of R89000. My other choices would cost me well over R100 000 or just on the dot.

Realy realy impressed with the qaulity of this Fiat. They realy pulled their socks up with this one.

Nice one man. R89k for a modern safe low mileage super mini. 7 airbags; ABS; ESP & all mod cons.

Even the latest MY2016 update is very minor to that shape.

Good choice & happy to hear no badge snobbery

Congrats on the Fiat. I still stand by the 2006 Merc with 91 000km for R100k with full service agent history.
