So thought I'd ask the question, what company offers the best credit card?

At the moment I am using my FNB card for everything, floating between level 2 and 3 for Ebucks, each time im swiping for fuel ( Fuel being my biggest expense ) I get money back.
But I was curious if anyone has done the research to know what card is the best, I know Discovery offers Discovery Miles, interested in hearing everyone's opinion.

Not that worried about interest rates as I pay the card off before the 30 day period every month.

It does not attract interest. It used to, years ago, but not any more.

Yes it does, it's illegal to buy fuel on credit.

EDIT: the 2009 law change just allowed the use of CC's at petrol stations, as far as I'm aware a fuel swipe attracts immediate interest still.

There's a thread here that shows some confusion:

I'd check your statements as I'm pretty sure fuel is counted as a "cash advance" like a transfer or cash withdrawal. /tinfoil Which is why the rewards are so much higher, to catch people and charge them interest /tinfoil

I feel FNB is the best, they really give back the most value and it is widely accepted with many partners.

Virgin Money cc holder here. I swipe for petrol and don't pay interest, FNB sucks if they charge you.

I'm with ABSA unfortunately...

Here's an old article showing Standard did at least used to charge interest immediately, seems to be at the discretion of the banks. No idea how to find out if a specific card does this without checking statements. I'll swipe for some fuel this month on the CC and check.

I pay for everything with my CC every month. (For ebucks).. Have never seen interest on petrol swipes (unless of course i forget to pay my CC within 30 days - but thats interest on the entire credit amount)

Don't be fooled. There is NO best credit card.
What, are you hoping for a life changing option?

That may explain it, no idea how it works with that bank.

FNB doesn't charge interest immediately on any swipes. Only on cash withdrawals...

I've actually never tried it, just arse-umed...

Back OT, OP stay with FNB, eBucks is the best rewards program. Also move all your spend to the CC and pay off monthly, keep your cash in an interest bearing account until you need to pay off the card, double whammy. Should easily be able to at least cover your banking fees like this.

I have discovery and fnb. They both good. I use fnb for fuel and checkers. And discovery at their retailers.

Discovery is kinda of a dark horse. Surprisely it can give you back over 50 percent of you spend depending on your integration.

No I'm hoping for opinions on the best reward system.
That's one I'm talking about. I get about 0.666% back in miles but then its gets multiplied by 10 since I'm on diamond so it's about 7%. Then I use my miles to boast my retirement saving. I also have purple invest so they boast my miles contribution by 4 therefore I get back about 28%. And if you bought items that are regarded as healthcare or fruits you get another 25% back in cash.

If it was an issue the media would have reports on it now and then, it was just the banks being their useless self, all the articles on it is old. Your one is 7 year old.
