That's Dolby TrueHD with Atmos, the Mi Box can't play it, you'll be able to play something that's Dolby Digital Plus with Atmos.

Aaah, yeah, thought he was trying something like Netflix or Prime which is lossy. Though oddly my JBL does show Atmos on the screen I think it's dd+

DD+ is the lossy version so it's compressed for streaming services, this means it's atmos but not 100%. Generally all the Metadata is still sent

oh I see, but then something thats like 80 gigs plus and says atmos I would expect to be so, yet the guys on AVforum overseas say even that isnt atmos

It maybe compressed Atmos. For true atmos you'd need a 4k blue ray or a console game

Pleasure, I think on the denon for DD+ atmos it just says dd+. But if the speakers are working it's probably decoding correctly
 
I’ve got the Denon x1800 and I’d assume the display is similar. I get the below from Netflix

Does netflix show atmos and vision when you go to an atmos show

Plugged direct to the amplifier - yup.

Settings are on my ATV - so different to the Mi. I’ve set audio out to Auto
