I only had a Pentium 2 equivalent PC for most of my high school years. Thus I have never been much of a gamer.

When I went to university, I bought myself a new PC (AMD64 3700+ San Diego, 1GB DDR400, GigaByte 6600GT 256MB, 17" Samsung 713N).

I got Fable running on my PC one holiday and I just had the most awesome gaming experience ever with that game. I remember listening to Linkin Park remixes and Alien Antfarm, and what not, while roaming around in Fable.

I played through the game several times again since then. Fable was even better than Oblivion for me.

If you would like to share your best gaming experiences, please do.

Sadly, I never played Fable. I did, however, enjoy Morrowind A LOT. I regret never playing the expansions for it though...

Best gaming experience

Multiplayer Warcraft 2.
Multiplayer Starcraft

come to think of it, my best experiences was playing multiplayer...

somehow beating the PC at a game is an empty victory. Bah, I can't out think this machine anytime. It's when the human elemant comes into play that i REALLY REALLY enjoy it.

Ah, I miss Unreal Tournament...

Lanning Starcraft at UCT and having to keep an eye out for the network admins at the same time.

Online: Counter-strike source
When alone: F1 1999 - 2002 championship
Lan: Total commander

Primary School(Gr 1 - Std 3): Transport Tycoon, Populous II

Primary School(Gr 5 - Gr 7): Old Sierra/Lucas Adventure games(Police Quest Collection, King Quest Collection, Leisure Suite Larry Collection, Monkey Island, Sam and Max) and Turbo Pascal.

High School(Gr 8 - Gr 10): Starcraft Broodwars, Borland Delphi 4.

After Gr10: I stopped playing games and don't really have memories of a games that really gripped me and made me sit in front of the computer for ages. It was more fun playing with the computers and programming languages. The last game I completed was Max Payne and the last game I played was Mafia.

Good times,

Totally disagree about Fable, no replay value whatsoever, okay you're character can be good/evil but the story and gameplay is totally linear IMHO.

I must have finished it in about 2 weeks max, trying out basically each good/evil twist at the same time. Also I noticed that all the items appear in exactly the same locations, to me that should be easy enough to randomise some of the time at least.

Second time round you just know exactly what do to all the time, it sucks. Suppose to each his own though, I have replayed LucasArts adventures many many times, and those have nothing different second time round.

Yip that was also a great game. I think the only shooter I really enjoyed playing Multiplayer. But only the first Unreal Tournament, I didn't try or like the other Unreal Tournaments.

Dude!!! like wtf it was HIS best experiance ever.wtf he likes the game end of story...probably sentimental value or somethin

Hehe. Yeah, it was much like getting nookie for the first time.

I had nothing to compare it to, and it just felt awesome playing my very first rpg on a half-decent PC. It was such an experience, I loved it.

Before Fable, my best experience was playing multiplayer StarCraft Broodwar and Quake II in our school computer room. Our whole class used to play half-an-hour of Quake II before school started, because the computer room was our registry class.

Wow, I almost forgot how awesome that was. 30 guys/gals running around and shooting with good lan speeds and ok computers :p

So many:

- Doom2, head-to-head over null-modem cable, for 10hrs straight. This induces hallucinations, BTW

- Doom2 6-player, followed shortly by Quake and Quake2 DM. Total awesomeness

- Running away from work over lunch, to play Diablo2 :D

- 2-hr long 6-way BroodWar matches.

- UT3 at 1680 x 1050 on a 22", with the sound turned way-way-way up (floor rumbling bass level), whilst a bunch of kids stare in awe.

Outlaws, back in '97, was the very first PC or console game I played. It was from LucasArts and was a western theme FPS with a very good storyline. Really enjoyed that game. That was a great gaming experience for me.
More recently I would say Mafia was a quality game and really looking forward to the upcoming sequel.
