Good morning internet friends,

I would like to know which ISPs in your opinion are the best for gaming.
Not sure if this will make a difference, but I stay in Vredekloof (Brackenfel).

I am currently looking at three ISPs: Mweb, WebAfrica and Openweb.
Basically what I want is at least 1mbps uncapped with the lowest latency.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

I have used all 3 and I can honestly say that my best gaming experience was on MWEB. That being said, if you only use it for gaming and nothing else (ie: downloading illegal stuffs and stuffs) you will be fine. They will cancel your account after 3 warnings of excessive downloading.

Openweb was good but I always had issues. Don't know why, but it just didn't work as great as MWEB.

I currently use Webafrica and I it great for both gaming and downloads. I love their service and will definitely recommend it. Plus downloads between 12 and 6am don't count towards your 75GB rolling limit.

I am sure others will give their own views as well. I believe it is preference as well. Gaming (MWEB), downloads and gaming (Webafrica).

Great, I was actually leaning towards WebAfrica.
I think they are also the cheapest as far as I can tell.

Do you have any idea what your latencies are with WebAfrica?

Openweb's accounts have extremely amazing latency and they don't monitor usage, so no rolling windows or threatening emails.

Does anyone perhaps know if there is a major difference in latency between the capped budget/capped gold and vannila uncapped/gold uncapped. I cant decide which account to go for.

I will have to check tonight when I am at home. Honestly its not as great as MWEB, but like I said I dont like being threatened all the time. Webafrica has awesome service and I never get any threatening e-mails from them. Gaming is awesome for me and so is the downloads.

It depends, what game servers you normally connect to. Are they international or local?

R649/pm is still pretty steep tho and that's not even for the unshaped offering. All I need is something to replaced my Afrigamer >.< Afrihost just had to move to MTN, been ****E ever since!

I changed before then, I struggled to find a single afrihost :erm: hosted gaming server in any FPS game I played.

On mweb 2mb uncapped now and I'm pretty happy.

Internet Solutions provide the best latency and QoS in the City Bowl, Atlantic Seaboard areas. Below is a screen of a ping while I have Team Viewer running on the line.

I'm with MWEB and use about 100-1TB per month and they never ever said I'm abusing. I think the reason for that is I'm not using anything to bypass my downloads. i can get 250-600KB/s and upload at 100KB/s 24/7 on a 4MB account. now give me another ISP that's cheaper and will give me that.

What account is that ? openweb gold? I get about 190 ms to bbc.co.uk on my openweb basic capepd account and 230 on my afrihost.

I have used OpenWeb (Which uses IS), Axxess (Which is on MTN), and Telkom. OpenWeb gave me the best gaming experience (lowest ping).
