I'm looking at singing up for an uncapped 1mbps ADSL account. Most use will be during evenings and over weekends. Predominant use will be for mail, web, social media, skype, youtube, some music and video downloads. No gaming.
Looking for the least amount of shaping or throttling. Quality of service also important. Price is not a consideration.
In my opinion, the best of both worlds :

R59/month.
You'll need to get this first, though (in order to add the bolt-on to it) :

Choose gig4gig HOME so you have access to Intl. as well during office hours
Each 1GB after the first free 1GB is charged at only R15.
Each of the above cost R50 setup fee.
My line is with Telkom.
I've been with them on the gig4gig for probably over a year + about 3-4 months on the Uncapped.
Have never had connection problems, and if I download podcasts locally or overseas, line runs at full speed & more, just about always (around 105 KB/s).
YouTube on 360p varies, but I think that's much more to do with YouTube than this ISP.
Their billing, which was a shambles, seems to be resolved now.
There's much more about @lantic's Uncapped on this thread,
http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/434391-lantic-R59-uncapped-bolt-on-feedback/page23
but much of it can be "confined to history", I'd think.
Re my post # 335, as long as you log on around 18h10 , and log off by about 5h50am, you shouldn't have issues with using up uncapped in capped times.
I personally don't abuse their system - have used just less than 15GB so far this month, but in one post in above thread someone mentioned using 60GB in one weekend, so you have some things to go on.
Forgot : Skype usually perfect even on a laptop in another room via wireless.
Last night however, for some reason it didn't ring through when using @lantic, even though contact was online. Switched to Afrihost and it worked - it was a one-off problem not experienced before on @lantic.
Just have a (cheapish capped) backup ISP in case, and you should be fine for the other 99% of the time with @lantic, is what I'm suggesting.
