Best online shop?

Who ends up being the cheapest online shop including shipping to Durban on a order R12000- R13000

You need to quote around ... it differs on an order to order basis ... I wish I could say I would be, but there is a good chance it will be prophecy because their shipping over 1k is free ... I can't afford to do that ... but still ... quote around, send me a PM of what you want, and I will give you a price with shipping.

My 2 preferred shops are www.nivo.co.za and www.take2.co.za
Take2 has a much wider range, but both have competitive pricing and excellent support.

I've had bad experiences with digitalplanet, so you wont find me going back there...

Edit: Has anyone tried wantitall? I'm lookin for non-pc stuff and they seem to be pretty cheap.

Yeah, Nivo have good service ... myself and Nivo are pairing up for RAGE this year, its gonna be awesome :) ...

Hi TheBandit,

If you don't mind me asking, could you please give me examples and order numbers of the bad experiences that you have had with us. You are welcome to email them through to my email address: [email protected]

Thanks and Regards,
Karyn

Yep, Antonia (the owner) is very very helpful. Offered to find products that fit my specifications that aren't available on the site, gave me support almost immediately at odd hours and even replied to an email of mine within 5 minutes at 11pm on a sunday night...

There wasnt a problem with the order itself, but rather with the after sales service. I had to send a few emails before i even got a response and thats not an isolated case. I always had to wait at least a week before i got email replies.

Furthermore, when i received an incorrect product from take2, they offered me a full refund and told me i could keep the incorrect product...
When i wanted to return a potentially faulty product to you guys, i was told there's nothing you can do. I will have to courier the product to the manufacturer myself... Fair enough, it was out of the one year warranty period, but there should be atleast something you could have done to help...

Its not only about the price, a low price is only the first step in getting the sale... Good service is what keeps the customer coming back...

Or maybe she doesn't have a life. :p

The thing about having an online shop and trying to stay on top of the game is to offer out of the world service ... so we do reply at 11pm ... sometimes you will get a reply from me a 2am or what ever ... if myself (or antonia) are by the pc when someone e-mails, we reply ... and we are both always at the PC's trying to sort out orders / e-mails / etc ... I know this because she has told me, and myself, I hardly get a chance to step away from my pc.

Antonia is a sweet lady, and she has a very interesting life ... you know she has a PhD if I'm not mistaken :) ... she has a lot of interesting info she could give you.

That is what true service is all about ... hence why myself and Antonia are attending RAGE together ... we want to show South Africans just what true online shopping is all about in terms of service as we both offer similar high standards.

Agreed and I'm glad that there are people out there who have pride in what they do.

Yup ... if we didn't take pride in what we do ... we'd become a e-commerce version of Telkom :P

Hi TheBandit,

If you could give me your order number then I can look into the service. We have had a lot of restructures over the last few months and I am working on our weaker areas. I have implemented a lot of new processes which I feel have helped us become stronger. However, we do need your feedback (the customer) in order to check up on these processes.

I hope that you will give us another chance as I feel you will not be dissapointed.

Kind Regards,
Karyn

Karyn, perhaps sorting and honouring all the back-orders would be a good place to start. For example, I have an item thats been on back order since late April last year.

Hi Cadavre,

Yes backorders are one of the problems that we are working on. I am suprised that you have a backorder for over a year as it should have been cancelled by now. Please can you send me your order number for me to look into this. Where you contacted for a replacement?

We have got many of our suppliers onboard to send us stocklists on a regular basis, we are aiming for once a week and when we get that right then daily. It is difficult being a business that does not carry stock as we are soley reliant on our suppliers. We are looking at holding stock of our top selling items and that should help as well.

Kind Regards,
Karyn

You guys are lucky ... I am reaching dead ends trying to get my suppliers to send me stock lists ... :(

Hi eitai,

Trust me - some are easier to get than others. It takes a lot of time on their side and that is why a lot of them are reluctant. Just keep trying - you will eventually get it right:)

Kind Regards,
Karyn

I realise it takes a lot of time ... but they already have it all done for their own systems ... now I just need them to press the export button :p
