Hey

Im looking at bakkies after enjoying driving a 2010 Nissan Navara 2.5D for a week. Looking at getting the best value and reliability, and resale value would be nice too. Have read other threads and i know that most people recommend Toyota for reliability and parts and resale, and maybe VW. Some people also say Isuzu.

I would like a Toyota or VW (which ones?), but what other brands and models and engines should i look at and why? And what should i avoid? Would spend R150000 - R250000 if needed and am happy with something 5 or even up to 10 years old and up to around 100000km. It would be a second car so not really a daily. Some extra comforts would be nice, and parking assist.

Manual too please.

How does a 2018 Nissan DC 2.4i with only 21K on the clock sound? That for only R199000. My father bought a 2016 model very recently. Value for money? I am sure it is.

It certainly is value for money, but 2 things that would concern me is the power (lack of it) and fuel consumption. The mechanical side is bulletproof.

You are 100% correct. Power it does not have. My father used to drive a Ranger 3.0 Diesel, chipped as well. So he feels the pain:ROFL:
 
It is so easy to change kms on clusters now days , saw vehicles with 200k kms on turned back to < 100k
