Better than iBurst?

Think about it, over 3x more than iBurst, for comparable cost. And uncapped local.

I wish iBurst was also uncapped local access. That's just a wish that won't come true, ever. I'm getting what I signed up for so it's not a big issue. ADSL should become cheaper by the end of the year then I might jump onto it.

Yea just like your telkom line will ALWAYS be better than your cell phone.

??????

ha ha ha...
i wouldnt even compare iburst to dsl just yet...
so far two wireless providers in sa are no where near the reliability levels of dsl just yet... i am sure far far away in a distant galaxy sometime we will start to see some improvements...

fixed line rules...

If iBurst was a cheap, uncapped & unshaped product, ADSL wouldn't stand a chance. But then again, there is no such product in RSA, period.

ecki ecki zatang zaloi!

we all thought that iBurst would be the solution to crappy [telkom] internet access - and most of us were sorely dissapointed.

To learn from the past: give axxess a shot: but don't expect miracles. ;-)

chose Axxess instead of iBurst

1mbit is not so usefull when combined with a cap.... plus a mystery second cap imposed by management when they feel like it!

i was ready to sign up for iBurst this month (because I like the mobile aspect), but decided to not proceed until their managememt makes up their mind about what's abuse of the system and what's fair use of what one has paid for!

Signed up with Axxess yesterday.

The person I spoke to at Axxess was very friendly and helpful...addressed all my concerns and got me signed up within a few minutes.

Internet browsing speed is OK.....P2P seems slower than TelkomInternet, but it's difficult to judge since transfer speeds can depend on a lot of factors, plus it's end of the month so all are downloading like crazy.

I'm on the 10gig package, and the price is very reasonable... will have a better overall impression of the service after a month's use.

Might still sign up for iBurst sometime in the future (when they've sorted themselves out), but for now, they're not getting my money!

yeah not sure what this mysterious second cap is, but as long as you found a service that suits yuour needs thats all that matters.

purchasing more bandwidth starts making sthings expensive.....10gig feels like a good cap for me.

slimothy, the "mystory cap" I refer to, is when management decides that you have now used your throttled 64k connection too much, and that you are abusing the system, and then proceeds to disconnect you.........and tries to extort payment for more bandwidth.

something like that happened recently... ;)
