Big issues with Telkom roaming

So update for 50 of our SIMs near Hermanus ....basically, they have been deprovisioned until they see a Telkom network! So if you live in an area where you used to rely on roaming (not that you would know as Telkom on MTN looked like Telkom), you have no signal, no calls, no SMS no data.

Moreover even when you get it to connect to Telkom-R the OOB Telkom page doesn't work - you can only get to vodacom's site! So you can't even tell it to go OOB. We are just testing now to see if buying any network data pinlessly helps (I don't think it is!)

This is a huge screw up by Telkom.

All a store says is 'try switching it on and off again'. How can they make such a huge change to their national network without any testing, warning or support!
 
Wait... What??! I spend money on buying Telkom data then Telkom tells me to buy all-net data too? That's not a solution at all. They must just fix this problem without telling us to spend more. SORT IT OUT!

My Telkom LTE sim used to work by the Voelklip circle, now it doesn't. Not even roaming.

Same problem in town. Changed my network manually to Telkom and it works.

Telkom ****ed up big time with this.

So when it roams it doesn't show an R next to the signal strength so you don't even know it's doing it.

That CellC 200Gb for 12months for R2K is looking very good right now

When I drove home I got that sms again that my service has been paused, even though I selected the Telkom network specifically an hour earlier. Can I not turn off this swtiching network kak?
 
Just checked my Huawei B525 under network search only a single "Telkom 4G" network comes up. On my phone (dual sim) of course there are a dozen. But why, after selecting Telkom specifically, would it still try to switch? And how to stop it?

Big improvement for me tonight after a few days of struggling. I now have Telkom only reception. Had vodacom and Telkomr for most of the day but was using rain. Tonight Telkom is fine again so it seems as if they did fix something now.
 
I keep getting disconnected from the network, tried roaming with Vodacom but nothing can't use the internet, WhatsApp nothing.I have to keep checking my phone to see if I'm still connected, reconnecting to TelkomSa-R every 5 minutes.Telkom has to sort this out i work with my phone it's really affecting me, soon I'll jump ship.

Midrand doesn't have great network coverage Mtn works better,don't know which better network coverage was Telkom talking about, This sucks big time.
 
On Friday night I reset my phone to stock factory settings. Since then, I have not received any roaming sms nor "Refreshing Sim Data" notification. *Touch Wood*

same here in lots of locations across the country. No data available.
 
They're doing NOTHING. started on Thursday at 1am.

This new roaming arrangement is BROKEN.

Looks like Vodacom basically haven't switched it on for 2g and 3g from what I can see.
 
For almost 2 months now I have been billed for OOB data, yet I have more than enough data available. Called and had on-line chats with Telkom, no success. Crazy that I must pay when I have data.
 
Well it's the 1st July now and still can't get any 2G or 3G on a Telkom-R connected SIM...

Think they messed it up?
 
So this seems to be a bigger issue for those using TM data only? Hence their 'buy all-network data' message?

I'm on FreeMe 2GB, with occasional MoNice TM data added.

Haven't had these SMSes but have noticed that I've been using more AN data than I used to. TM data is there but not being used.

I have never seen my phone on TelkomSA-R. Only TelkomSA. I have to go into settings to see that, so it's harder to catch :(
 
Just noticed I'm being double debited.

Check balance, record balances.

Do MyBB speedtest, check balance and record balances.

Both AN + TM were debited :(
 
Lol let's use up our data,jump ship stop buying phones from TELKOM outlets,let them sink like Titanic.TELKOM REMEMBER KODAK LISTEN TO YOUR CUSTOMERS.
