Big upgrades to FNB Banking App

Most welcome. Initially i was confused about the R0.01 thing my thought was they charge you R0.01 for each notification/ incontact approval. I see they actually mean they will notify you for transactions as low as 1 cent. Or am i still confused?

Is there a place to enable this? :/

Anyone with a Huawei P9 Lite tried the new FNB App yet?
Does the fingerprint login and NFC payment work with this device?

Looking for a cheap and cheerful handset that will support the new app functionality.

Got the Huawei P9 from MTN yesterday.

The fingerprint reader on the phone works so well. The same cannot be said for the banking app, as it does not offer the fingerprint ID feature to me. Nor do I see the FNB Pay feature.

Got hold of an FNB rep on Secure Chat, after "Verifying" the new device (P9) on the App on my old phone, I can now see FNB Pay on my P9. BUT, it complains saying I need Android 4.4+, NFC and No Root/modified software.

Still cannot see fingerprint unlock. I've restarted app and phone a few times. Cleared cache, "relinked" the device with an SMS OTP, but still nothing.

So I guess, the new features just refuse to work for some reason...

I know for a fact, that if the phone is rooted, that they do not provide the fingerprint option.

I believe they use Android Safety Net to check.

My phone is not rooted, literally 2 days old.

On the other hand, my sister's Xiaomi Mi 5 has Tap to Pay in the phone settings, with FNB listed as the default app which opens. And she did not have to try anything to get it going, it just worked first time.

All their latest apps have been bad and aimed at the non existing ipad/ipod/tab wannabee savers.

Did some reading yesterday - 3d verfication (by VISA) for 3rd party websites is still sms. Don't think I have done any transaction on online banking since inception of smartotp that required an otp.

I hope I'm using the right wording ... But essentially hacking into the OS.

I followed faniedry's instructions but there was no option to change the status from "Not verified", so I emailed FNB and they said that transacting in the app would automatically change the status to verified albeit after 7 days, FNB also claimed that the "Not verified" status does not prevent in-app OTPs from coming through but I tend to take things that FNB says with a pinch of salt.

My Huawei P9 had a "Not Verified" status. Opened the FNB app on my current phone which then asked me to verify the new device.

On the Huawei P9, Networks>More>NFC. I can see the "Tap & pay" option. With FNB listed as the default payment app.
