Biohacking/Longevity and reversing aging

The reason why we age and die has not been completely established, however the main theory behind our life expectancy is attributed to the length of telomeres that are directly responsible for the division of cells in our bodies, leading to reduction in the length of the telomeres over time until cell division stops... Based on this assumption, it was calculated that humans can live up to the age of 120 years, known as the Hayflick limit.

As one scientist in the field said- aging is a virus that has been successful in 100% of subjects, however not much attention is paid to it and we take it as unavoidable consequences of life, so I want to challenge it and willing to try different methods to delay the spread of the virus for as long as possible and it would be great to hear from other like minded people on your journey to so called biohacking and what are you currently doing or taking.

PS I respect all religions, but would appreciate if the thread was with focus on scientific research and your experiences.
 
What Im already practicing:

1) No smoking. No fast food.
2) Nutritious diet with combination of protein shakes, broken down into 5 daily meals
3) 1-3 glasses of red wine per week proven to be more healthier than not drinking at all
4) Weight training 5-6 days a week
5) At least 3L of water daily, no other liquids
6) Supplements: multivitamin, salmon oil/omega 3, vitamin C
7) Niagen (helps damaged cells repair themselves)

After human trials looking to introduce Foxo4dri peptide, currently I found only 1 person experimenting with it with significant positive health improvement results
 
I firmly believe death will be cured within the next 2 - 3 generations, but hopefully not by drinking water as your only liquid.......

I also want to believe so, but how would you feel if you miss the boat by say 20 or even 5 years, is it not enough motivation to start now...

Death cannot be cured and never will.
 
PS I respect all religions, but would appreciate if the thread was with focus on scientific research and your experiences.
If you only want to know what supplements to take so that you can live to 80 or 100 then sure, but death is very much a philosophical debate that incorporates religion. Religion can't be divorced from this topic.

If we do cure death will it be for everyone or just the rich? Some interesting moral implications. Anyways, whenever this question comes up it reminds me of this awesome comic adaptation of Asimov's "The last question"

Then you end with a genetic issue, get run over by a car, brain clot, myocardial infarction or worse unexpectedly die unrelated to a healthy living, and as direct result of weight training, arthritis or other joint related issues.

There is a point where it is excessive, you pretty much done that...;)

Some myths to clear up red wine does have Antioxidants but not that rich a ORAC score of around 3670, in fact you better off with a fruit based wine instead of a grape based wine as it has a ORAC score 4 times higher or more.

Much much healthier option is just eating blueberries or sucking on clove or clove oil, with cloves having the highest ORAC score and you don't poison your self with alcohol ;) Even dark chocolate or plain cocoa has a higher score

While water is fine, liquid intake isn't exclusive to to plain old water, caffeine free coffee and teas like green and rooibos(Also rich Antioxidants more then wine) also counts towards liquid intake, unsweetened fruit or vegetable juices also count towards intake.So you are really not doing your self any favors by limiting your fluid intake to just water.

Fast foods, every now any then is good for you, you shouldn't be cutting fats out of your dieet, vitamins A D E and K are fat soluble and actually need it ;) So that portion of take away food every now and then isn't entirely bad.
Olive oil or grape seed oil in your daily dieet :)

Shame health nuts punishing them self for no apparent reason......other then prolonging their suffering....

Coffee has also been found to be more beneficial than damaging.

Anyway, living a healthy life is good and all, but damn, you have to enjoy life as well. Sure, some things are just stupid, like smoking and doing the more dangerous drugs.
I'm just not going to not drink beer, not eat pasta and or red meat and chocolate cake every now and then due to the 1% extra chance I will die before 70.
 
Some like to think that life has no meaning without death. But I sure as hell seem to find meaning every day without even thinking of death :p (And without religion mind you).

I think if we cure death it would be reserved for the richest first. And that might cause some controversy.

Co-enzyme Q10 has been touted and critiqued as "anti-aging". But is probably nonsense. I took it for a while as part of a supplement stack for gym though.

New advances in gene therapy and virus vectors might yield something in the near future?

Anything from Aubrey de Grey recently? Haven't heard from that guy for a long time.

There's also the Avatar project (2045 Initiative), but who knows how realistic that is.

Also an Italian (IIRC) scientist who claims he is about to do a live human head transplant in China any day now. No one knows if he is a crock nor where he is getting the donor body from :p

Well I have a surprise for you, if you look at life expectancy chart and not over 50, there are very good chances you would make it to 80, with the new generations easily reaching 100.

That was the point of that disclaimer to take the philosophy out of this, there are bunch of discussions already and it quite frankly leads to nowhere, the focus is purely on the scientific research and your own experiences to live longer and healthier life.
 
@Zukat, how old are you and how old do you look?

I am 31 and had an opportunity to do a DNA blood test with a result of 26.2, the feedback Im getting is I look in my mid twenties. I attribute this feedback mostly to Niagen (been taking over a year) and healthy diet and activity (been training since 20).
