4 mbps is pretty much the upper limit in terms of adsl connection speed, but a 4gb micro sd card is by no means the biggest you can get. Strap 32gb to him and see how he does :D
 
Ahhh come on guys. I think it was a damn funny idea. When the post was made a few years ago that its cheaper to fly to HK and download data we all agree'ed and it got posted up all over the place. This is nothing different.

When did everyone lose their sense of humor in life?
 
The Hong Kong comparison was certainly more relevant, however, this one is far more funnehh :D
 
Just so you all know, Winston's little ordeal was slashdotted yesterday.

I agree that it is a publicity stunt, but at least it is making the rest of the world aware of the mess we have to deal with down here on the dark continent.

Even if they bring awareness to a problem? Such as this one which highlights the pathetic standards of our broadband for those who have no frame of reference? It's pretty smart marketing on their part if you ask me - really well done. It's not intrusive, it's sociable, interactive, entertaining to an extent all the while promoting their company while highlighting a major issue with our country's telecoms situation...

I agree.

I can also pretty much guarantee that I could mail/be sent and receive a package of 9 DVDs (40GBs standard/76.5GBs DL) to/from Denmark in less time and for way cheaper than it would take to download it here. Eight days and a total cost of R50 from ZA or 75Kr from Denmark (about R130) via registered mail.

Our internet reliability, services and prices are utterly crap. Which is a much more polite description than can be said for those who try to justify it.
 
Who is the ISP ?

Who actually is the ISP for this company ? How much capping ,throttling do they practise ?:D

45k a month???

a 4mb uncapped line costs 3k... that should do you around 30gb a day, at full speed....

download rate yes 4mb ... but upload rate is still only 512 :sick:
