There is a problem with BF4 as per Bitco's own admission. They are working on a resolution. Or so I gathered from the thread about it.

Hi Guys,

we are working very hard on this fix and various daily testing is happening, we hope to have it resolved shortly

i will post a further update as soon as we have one

Hi guys,

Anyone else in the process of installing/getting Bitco internet and been waiting forever?

Since my initial application on the 10th of April, I've received my invoice 3 days later (on the 13th of April). Ever since, it's been quite from Bitco's side.

Are they really so busy to let a potential client wait for almost 5 weeks now without any contact or update?

I know they said 6 weeks when I submitted the application, but I haven't even been through the LOS test.
I'm just wondering if this is how a potential client is treated, then how will I be treated after the signup.

I've heard only good things from Bitco, and so far its been a bit of a disappointment.

Regards,
Zuan

It took about 6 weeks from the invoice date for mine. They called me in the 5th week to book LOS test. Just hang in there it will happen.

Funnily enough. I received my sales order on the 10th of April. So you and I should hopefully be contacted soon.

May both of us have line of sight and may both of us not have the problems that some of the other people have.

Wait your turn - mine went in 25 April :p

We are 3 houses inside a complex that applied, right next to each other. With any luck they might survey and (potentially) install all 3 of us on the same day. I'm hoping for end-May.

Haha I would love to know which complexes you guys are in. Our complex has been approached for a fibre installation but I'm struggling to get more information.

We are in those complexes off Mozart - Strutt Street. There is DFA Fibre running up Strutt towards the Sentech complex, where it joins up with Octave Street on the other side of Radiokop. MTN have approached complexes to gauge interest in their FTTH product (low interest at ours because of their pricing) and ISP's like 123Fibre and Vumatel do not show interest at this juncture.

I lived in Mozart street up until about 4 years ago. :) I can't believe there's actually fibre there! Man I struggled with Telkom while living there. It has put me off Telkom for life.

I went off Telkom onto 8ta's 10+10GB 3G service from 2011 to 2013, due to bad bad congestion issues, and then back onto ADSL, which was fine up until June/August 2014 when the same congestion issues reared its head again.

I am in the process of getting a quote for Bitco to be installed. I have read the full 234 pages on the Bitco review. I am just interested if anyone here has Bitco in the Rietvlei area and how there connection is as what I have read is your connection is very much depended on the Tower that you are connected to.
