BitCo Consumer Review

Most of the reported E900/E1200 routers that are experiencing issues are "apparently" due to QOS settings on the router..

http://brikis98.blogspot.com/2012/02/got-slow-download-but-fast-upload.html?m=1

Check the link...

So far running I got my nephew playing BF4 and other FPS games and he has not reported 1 problem yet.

Hope you manage to sort out the issue.

Mmmmmmm this might be worth a look, because I remember Garth mentioning last week that there some sort of QOS issue he's picking up.

Edit: But then again this solution is for people experiencing slow download speeds on this router, not the problem I'm experiencing, but I'll fiddle with the settings regardless:D

Hi Folks,

Cannot really find anything regarding the Nelspruit towers in the thread. Does anyone know where exactly they are located. According to the coverage map, I am located in the middle of the two overlapping spots, but would like to check if I have LOS to any of the 2 towers.

Thanks for your input.

Does anyone know if it's possible to get these guys to put up more towers?

My link went down on Friday, but I only got to log the call on Friday late afternoon. As Bitco only works during office hours, I'm doubtful the link will be restored before Monday / Tuesday. This is one problem I've never had to deal with on Hellkom. They're not going to make the 99% uptime promise this month!

Any reason as to why international keeps timing out?

Wow, deserving after all the work you guys have been putting in. /Proud client.

I had a pretty decent weekend of gaming, I had a few lag spikes, but nothing near what I was experiencing, this was more like 1 or 2 lag spikes an hour rather than a minute.

One or 2 lag spikes an hour still wouldn't fall under "decent" in my books:p Something surely must still be wrong seeing that most of us didn't have a single issue with gaming when we first signed up

How did the gaming at your friend's place go this weekend?

Didn't get around to going to his place, but I tested a 2nd pc and my laptop again on my connection, just to confirm that the issues is not on my pc, had the same issue on all 3 machines, and also asked this friend of mine to test out CSGO on his connection... And he said he played without any issues...

So I know two things for a fact, multiple machines get the same issue on my connection (So the problem is not my PC)
And that other Bitco users manage to play CSGO just fine on their connection (So the problem is with my connection, and not the game servers)

Not much more I can do from my side other than wait, the status on my original issue submitted to bitco has been on "open" for over 2weeks now, so they're either fixing something very complex thats taking alot of time(and not bothering to let the customer know how much effort they're putting into it), or just not attending to the problem at all.

I have been trying to contact Garth since Friday morning, haven't heard a word, I understand he is CEO, but he could at least send an email back to say that when he has some time that he would look into it, but its been dead quiet..

Get in line  I have been trying to get Garth to either respond to me, or direct me to someone who can assist, since the 12th August. I have sent numerous emails, pm's and have tried contacting him telephonically on many occasions only to be brushed off or told to call back the following day.

We have a complex in Lonehill that Bitco did a proposal on to install fibre and provide internet services via a dedicated p2p wireless link. They came out and did an entire site inspection (conduits, reticulation, etc). They were extremely professional and quite jacked up. Once we were ready to send out the circular inviting residents to apply for the service and just needed Bitco to give it the nod and provide a primary contact to co-ordinate the applications the correspondence died. I drafted the circular myself, giving detailed info on the proposal and blowing enough smoke up Bitco's rear to launch them into outer space :D . All we needed was a nod and a contact inserted into the draft.

I have a funny feeling Bitco may have bitten off more than they can chew when they started offering services to the public. I don't think they were ready for the volume of interest, which is a pity as things started off so well.

Who knows, perhaps they will find a balance, but I have to admit that I am quite disappointed.
