BITCO....Doing wireless right !!

Congrats guys, it just shows you that when engineered correctly, using proper back-haul links and fiber breakout wireless is a genuine alternative to ADSL/VDSL

So glad to see a wireless provider finally doing it properly...many WISP's gave wireless a very bad name in the early days, a name it does not deserve
 
If some of you are gamers, what is the latency like when playing something like BF4? Is it still playable?

Is packet-loss something to be worried about, especially during summer (rain season)? Since the links are directional with very high SNR compared to normal mobile, my head is telling me it shouldn't be too much of a problem. I would just like to hear what you guys have to say.

Maybe Garth can give some feedback on performance during highveld thunder storms...

Dont play bf4, but I play CSGO on local servers, there my pings are 15-30ms, and some WoW/D3 on EU servers, there my ping is 190-200ms

On the WoW servers I also sit at 190 - 200 (EU)

On Local sites playing rust my Ping has been between 60 - 90 depending on which server.

So bitco was out this morning and installed :D

How long does the handover take? It would be great before the weekend.

If I remember correctly mine was installed on a Wednesday and working by Friday Afternoon, but there is no set time from what I read here

Support said up to 7 days... But I hope not. Apparently it needs to be signed off by director.

I am not sure what Bitco has changed with regard to their international routing, but last night I had 175ms - 185ms to Battle.net.

I have never had such amazing pings to battle.net in the 5 years I've been playing Blizzard games. Keep up the good work guys.

Mine was installed the Tuesday, worked the Wednesday afternoon when I got home. Hope you're sorted before the weekend :)
 
So I haven't heard anything as of yet :(

Haven't had Internet for 2 weeks.. Hope It isn't a long wait :)

It was installed yesterday?

Nothing wrong with phoning them and asking if the link has been handed over?
I know of a few cases where the line was handed over but people not informed for some reason. Worth a shot?
 
My LOS test and hopefully install is happening Monday afternoon....holding thumbs.

Yeah I also noticed, when I first used it those first few weeks it was ~230ms (which is not bad) but now its always below 200ms, keep it up:)

So they said by Monday :)
 
Garth was very helpful yesterday,
He said there was a possibility that the link would be handed over at 19:00 last night.

Even though it wasn't, I'm still very impressed with the support!:)
 
LOS test this Fri fingers and everything else crossed!
 
Garth, could someone please checkout my connection, or in particular the tower I'm connected too.

We have 3 people in our complex using bitco and we all seem to be having random lag spikes, mine in particular is in wow.
Pings are around 195ms but every so often it feels like there is packet loss / lag spike.
 
Some noise form a KZN dude... Seems everyone here is based in Gauteng. For once I have coverage covered by two towers as per the Bitco coverage map... :) BitCo has an order to investigate :)
