BitCo Consumer Review

Tried that, doesnt work:erm:

Had the same problem, router was locked, Bitco gave me the login in details however they were incorrect, had to reboot the router to factory default and proceeded to set it up from scratch! Word of warning make sure you've got lots of coffee or red bull because the initial setup took me hours but once setup it is piss easy from there. If you are not savvy in setting up routers, give Richard a call at Bitco Support.

@BitCo, I am moving houses at the end of the month, how do I get my connection moved? I tried to obtain the information from your support staff on the phone but having to spell out my name 5 or so times led to enough frustration that I have given up on that option.

Hi fluKe, please expect a PM with details shortly.

How long does it normally take for the wireless division to contact a person? Hehe I hope the 6 week wait is from when one originally contact them and not from when the wireless division people phone. :) Man, I can't wait to get BitCo!

I waited 4 weeks from the 13th of March for a call to arrange a los/installation and they are coming tomorrow 15th April.
So within the 6 weeks.

Hey guys, Just thought I'd join the forum. BitCo installed last Thursday so I'm in the soaking period. Cant wait for it to be active cos I've had it with my other provider (iburst). Does the soaking really have to take so long???

i had got my paper work in by the 6 march and got my installation done on 9th 5 week wait. now 3 day of soak in testing.

Mine took a whole week... well worth the wait though:D. They make sure pings are as low as possible and that theres no packet loss before they actually hand it over to you.

So iv stress tested my 5mb link over the past week and i must say once again im impressed.

When the link is at 5mb streaming youtube HD and netflix HD is no problem at all and works like a charm.

When the link goes 2MB though streaming 720p on youtube is still possible but for some reason netflix sometimes buffers on medium to high quality.

I have downloaded the occasional torrent in the evenings between 10 and 6 in the morning and all is completed by that time.

Gaming is still the best iv experienced at 5mb or 2mb. Pings are low and consistent and still zero packet loss.

Cant really recommend any ISP better than Bitco.

This afternoon at 14:00 I started downloading GTA V. It is currently sitting at 17GB.

This is going faster than I expected and I haven't noticed any throttling during this time... I'm not complaining so don't go and change anything now

At this rate I will be able to play tomorrow evening.

Thanks BitCo

Had my installation yesterday. Great guys who did the installation took about 3 hours. Now soaking hopefully up and running soon.

I checked last night and it was working, so i'll run tests on my side tonight if load shedding doesn't kill my joy...

I have a question for the BitCo rep.

I have to download quite a bit of game data/updates from Blizzard or Steam (Thief from steam is 10gb+). If I have these downloads going (technically these are unattended downloads) will the FUP kick in and I will be throttled??

Any downloads at max speed for a certain time will trigger the FUP.

Not a bitco rep, but I've done a lot of steam/blizzard downloads.... And yes FUP will kick in

Just run the at night?
Since the blizzard download or most updates are not torrents (I have switched off torrent on the blizzard updater) they get downloaded at normal FUP speeds. If you torrent them they are nerved to shyte during the day. So torrent during the day is a no-no. Normal weblink downloads run at line speed or throttled speed. Torrents just suck during the day. Make sure your downloader have P2P deactivated when updating games.
