Bitcoin mania rockets

Do you know how they say don't invests with money you cannot afford to lose?

Well, that's exactly what I did - I took R20,000.00 and bought 4 coins. However, it was far too volatile for me and over the next few weeks hovered lower than what I bought them for. The minute it got back to R21,000ish I decided to sell and recoup.

Then, after each jump, I kept telling myself its too late to get back in

That is what you get for listening to biometrics. You wasted time and now we gonna call you a pussy. :p

:'(

I could have paid off my car and bought some new goodies. sigh

thats the thing that bother me sometimes,
you sell and then price jumps even more higher.....

I guess thats life people.....

its like roulette, put everything on number 19, and then you win,
leave it where it was, you lose everything.....

so the "house" always wins---in the long term at least....

I'm sad because I sold mine recently at R60 000. Didn't think it would skyrocket like this.

BTC is not something you buy and watch the charts daily to see whats going on... or this is what happens. Luckily you're smart enough to wait for it recoup and managed to come out on top. Many who whine and talk smack about btc are those who bought and sold lower and lost their cash(like somehow selling for lower than they paid is somehow going to make them money, panic sellers:D), now all salty about it.

You buy it and forget about it, check again in a few years

Do you have a anesthesiologist that keeps you under? No ways I can only check in a few years! But when I see it drop, I just go "Ockie....chill the hell out...have smoke, have a bit of wine and do what Thor would do. HODL!" :crylaugh:

ok, then but a unit trust, or more "traditional" investments like gold or platinum or even oil

get a steady return with dividends every month, but no big shockers....

BTC is for the Nerds that want to gamble a bit, and participate in a interesting experiment,

namely, why exactly do we need a central bank and treasury to manage out money and profit off it all the time?
I mean its bad enough they steal constantly, and we allow it.

BTC puts a stop to that, but its a risk I guess.

Hehe, you know what I mean:D Ignore the fud and the tulips. Ignore the -2% today, ignore all of it. Just hodl, and think about paying off your house/car/yatch in 5 years;)

thats the right way to think of BTC, yes you can kick yourself for not investing in google when the stock came out,
but life is too short to wait for things like that. BTC is quicker

Same thing if you think about Capitec! Can you imagine if you bought when they listed? CRAZY!

:crylaugh:

Double, double, toil and trouble...
GPUs burn and bitcoin bubble...

Hodl money you can afford to hodl.

To the moon, don't be ashamed, if you only have R100 bucks. Then you buy with that R100 bucks you don't need to be of a certain income group to benefit.

Those people who have cashed out with profits are the few to have actually made real cash. In addition those who have made real cash so far:

- GPU manufacturers due to the higher demand.
- Electricity providers are getting real cash.
- Exchanges. They are generating real cash from fees.

The cash paid to the above providers has come from people who have played with cryptocurrency. The holders have theoretical money, buying and selling from each other, which has resulted in the price shooting up. If they all tried to sell, it would crash to almost nothing because you have a market which is valued at $100bill due to demand created by speculation but only say $10bill has actually been thrown in as real cash. If everyone tried to sell at the same time only $10bill would be able to be taken out.

I always maintain the stance that if it sounds too good to be true it probably is.

I have to admit at this point I am starting to wonder what I am missing out on but it's hard to believe it is going to remain on a growth curve, I am not into gambling.

Better close down the JSE, NYSE LSE then.

Those companies have real underlying value unlike bitcoin which is used for drug deals, money laundering and speculation.

Yeah, I literally just bought an Xbox on Takealot this morning with BTC so you're talking absolute garbage.
