Black Ops 3 - Server problems

Hi Forum member,

Apologies if this has been asked before. I am new to the forum and thought this would be the best place to ask seeing that this issue seems to be only on SA or not in the US at least. (Judging from online game play videos on Youtube)

I am having major issues with the servers in Call of Duty Black ops 3. I am playing on the Xbox One. As far as I know the servers are based in Cape Town.

Here are some of the issues:

  • When connecting, I can ONLY connect to a team deathmatch game. None of the other gameplay modes seem to have any games to connect to. It shows "1 of 50" games and then shows "0" again. This continues but it does not actually connect to a host
  • The lobby kicks out 4 out of 5 times. It will do the countdown but then just kicks me out again. It does seem like everyone else gets kicked as well.
  • There is lag in the game from time to time.
  • A message pops up saying "migrating hosts" but then just fails and kicks me back to the home screen.
  • After a successful game of play it stays in the lobby for a while but then just kicks me out again saying "server disconnected" or something along that line.


Console: Xbox One
Internet connection: Mweb premium 4mb

Is anyone else having the same problems?
 
when are you trying to connect? mornings are generally an issue to connect, have you tried after 6pm?

Last night between 6pm and 8pm. Managed to get in 4 games in that time. :(
 
What i also don't understand is how there are NO OTHER game modes with servers.

My NAT type is set to open too

It's like that on PC as well. If you search any other game mode aside from TDM you won't get anything. Best is to fill up that friends list and try and join on friends who already have a game. Other game modes are non existent.

What you haven't mentioned is what line you are running on? ADSL? 3G? Connection speed on this game is very important.

Thanks. I'll try that. Do you know how I can search for other COD playing people?

I am running ADSL 4MB Mweb premium

Go to social then check recent games. It will show everyone you have played against. Add them to your friends list and you should be able to see when they are playing. :)
 
Yeah, its matchmaking is a piece of crap. I have terrible luck...some evenings I don't find any games at all (after a few minutes), then I just quit and go play something else.
 
BO3 doesnt have dedicated servers and uses peer to peer hosting. So unless theres a bunch of players with a decent connections (10mb or more ) to host you're not going to find and games. Not sure what the XBone player base is like but I play on PS4 and have no problem finding a TDM lobby and possibly a free for all lobby, other game types not a chance.
