I'm not sure I could get over how ugly Blackberries are...
Maybe - but they're really great at what they do. :) Besides - the 8700 isnt bad looking at all.

Thanks for the link - can you suggest where I might look for blackberry service prices? I'm not too keen on taking out a contract if I dont have to as I already have my own 7290 - unless they're offering the 8700 :)

I'm not sure of a link however there’s only one package on BIS for R159.00 per month over 24 months which will have any of the data bundles loaded with it.

Unless, you're looking for BES or both concurrently which will have BISBES as a product loaded.

Pity - but there's no way I'm signing a 24 month contract if I dont have to. Soon as MTN plays catch up with the other provider then it will be worth a second look.

Thanks for the feedback. :D

As far as I know with Vodacom I'm assuming you talking about them if you want the Blackberry unit then you have to take out a 24 month contract, please advise on above

My intention wasn't to introduce a Vodacom vs MTN debate but seeing as you asked I'm currently on a month-to-month 4u contract) with the blackberry add-on - which is essentially the only thing I pay for.

AFAIK people also use this option for general data options too when they dont want to be subjected to a contract.

No worries and thanks - I've got no qualms about changing providers if the price is better :)

Handsets etc

Has MTN actually rolled out a blackberry offering?, the website info is a bit iffy and there is no solid info in the marketplace?

Also a number of MTN SP's are advertising the 7100g as available. I thought this handset "failed" internal testing.....

MTN Blackberry has been out for some time now

As for the Marketplace I can't comment.

As for the 7100g I'll enquire about that with MTNHandsets and advise.

MTN DD is this a problem with the 8700 or at MTN - i.e. does BB have to resolve the issue? My wife is waiting for one of these, on my recomendation, (works for an American company) and to be honest she wouldn't know what an MMS is (bless her and luckily she doesn't read this forum!)

Kind regards
