Downloaded and installed wihtout issues :D

Think it is coz i have an unlocked verizon tour (9630) and blackberry.com picks it up us and "american" phone and allows me to use it :)

Reloaded the os last night and downloaded all the basic apps(facebook, gtalk, live msgnr) via appworld without any issues.

Thanks. What's odd is that my phone (BB 9000) was working fine with app world until I ran the updates. After that it's stopped working. I'll try your link.

Edit: Nope it doesn't work.

Yes & while I do agree with creating a blackberry section, this thread related to vodacom bringing blackberry app world to its network and as such belongs in the vodacom section.

Still blackberry related as well :)

Vodacom and MTN will be iformed about threads here that is related to the carries. We are just trying to get a seperated Combined place for all blackberry related questions.

Jeez you okes are on top form eh.

I think I must say nothing and let you google the answers and make all the phone calls :D

Appworld RUNS on a BLACKBERRY independant of the CARRIER which is / would be either Vodacom and / or MTN.

So since you need a BLACKBERRY to use the service then it would be a BLACKBERRY topic ;)

Have you read this thread? Yes, blackberry app world is for blackberries - but it has not been brought into this country yet because each carrier has to negotiate its terms with blackberry. Have you tried to download app world? -It is carrier sensitive - It does not work in this country.

And since im on vodacom, my fone is from vodacom, and i started this thread, and the vodacom rep even stated its because they need to negotiate the terms with RIM, its very much a vodacom problem.

Want to carry on arguing your ridicilously stupid point now?

Agreed, the op started this thread with questions and answers relating directly to vodacom.
Moving it makes no sense.

ok, so may i ask a stupid question before go out and get a BB....
Will gtalk, MSN messenger, facebook etc, be available to use on the BB at all, even if not through App world?
thanks
Sean

yes, unless you're getting a VODACOM contract, in which case performance may be extremely poor.

unfortunately it would be a vodacom upgrade... i am so hoping this BIS speed 'upgrade' on the 24th comes through......
thanks

If any carrier ie Vodacom or MTN supports Appworld on their Blackberry infrastructure then yes it should work.

To pay for certain apps you may have to input credit card details or perhaps the carrier can add the cost of the application to your monthly bill (would be the easiest option) but not so easy to implement.

It requires buy-in from RIM and they may have specific agreements that prevent a carrier from "billing" the client directly for applications obtained on AppWorld.

all of the apps he mentioned are available outside of appworld, so you don't need appworld to get those apps. and yes they will work (although abysmally if you are on vodacom)

ok understood, so as i understand, BB App strore is NOT supported atm on vodacom? there are just a few free ones i was after initially..
thanks
