Blackberry free data 3MB later

For some reason 3MB is gone from my data bundle since Monday but I'm only using internet, email, facebook and viigo and on the device only.

Vlingo is a 3rd party app and uses the internet apn not the blackberry apn

Advanced settings - TCP/IP - APN doesn't have anything in there. Must I type Blackberry.net in there?

no you should have options > network settings . gives you options of BISm, BES ,Auto , and TCP/ip

i was using Vlingo.

i have build 3.1.352 and platform 4.5.0.55

If theres nothing there, then your phone cant use the normal APN. Unless MTN's apn is blank

How can I see on my BB Curve8900 if it is using BIS or MTN apn while I'm using a app?

The "GPRS" or "EDGE" or "3G" (edit:8900's dont have 3G) in the top right corner should be in capitals. If not, then you're not on BIS. Have you installed any JAVA apps like MXit recently?

EDGE is always in capitals. I installed Mxit but only logged on twice. Didn't use it at all. Only using Google Talk but not much either.

Google Talk uses BIS. I know this because I use it all day and it wouldnt work if it didnt use BIS. I deleted the VC APN to avoid these unexcected charges. Not sure how it works on MTN, but I would recommend you delete, or put a random non-existant apn into the TCP settings and see what happens.

Someone told me to do this:

Go to options > advanced options > TCP and disable APN along with any apn settings if entered there.

Also at options > advanced options > browser set 'internet browser' as your default and your service provider as the default wap browser
