BlackBerry user numbers dwindle in SA

Try hook your phone up to your company mail/etc... take note of the number of limitations this then forces onto your phone if the IT department are halfway clued up.

Pretty standard where I work to have a company-issued phone depending on role and no changes on the horizon. BYOD is a huge exception. But then it is a very large and conservative multinational, which is why I still have a BlackBerry. And being conservative BlackBerry is now seen as having a risky future hence they're no longer offered on contract renewal and I get to pick an iOS/Android/Windows Phone device in a few months.

Many Android phone owners indicated they're polite and good at cooking, although they also watch the most TV and drink more booze than their counterparts on iPhones or BlackBerry.

And Talk Talk Mobile found that BlackBerry users make the most money and tend to work in finance, property, and health fields. They also drink the most coffee and tea and have more long-term relationships than iPhone or Android fans.
 
I'm happy with my blackberry, show me a smartphone that can match it's email support or battery life?

I know it lacks media support etc. But that's why I have an android tablet for my multimedia needs.
 
This is to be expected. I can honestly say that my time with a BB was the worst experience with any phone I have ever used. It was a low end device but then they try and run the same OS on it that the high end models use and it just cannot run it.

Moving from BB to Android was a massive eye opener on how phones should actually work.

Well, to each his own. I do find some people try and convince themselves though that they like Blackberries. I think this is more a psychological thing though and usually happens shortly after the acquisition of a 2 year contract :D
 
Well if you had a Curve, you only have yourself to blame. The Bold range was far superior in quality.

Had both... And you are (were) right... Until... I got a Droid.

One I discovered Droid, no BB could win me back. A crappy build Droid was better than a premium BB - IMO. Thankfully, I didn't have a crappy Droid.

I love android but why replace what isn't broken? My next phone won't be a Blackberry unless there's a miracle but for now my BlackBerry does what I need and is reliable.

My bicycle used to do the same job as my motorbike which did the same job as my car. I tended to prefer my car. :)

I always advise anyone that I see using a BB to consider moving to an Android device, not a Samsung one specifically since there is lots of variety of droids
 
Blackberry in it's hay day was a real game changer but instead of keeping up with the times they chose to rely on the strength of a messaging app of all things.

IOS and Andriod slaughtered all the old guard.
 
I run the BES Express server on our network and 18 months ago we had 1300 users. Now it's down to 320. Enough said.
