Blocked off internet

Can't say that cause all people in my company is computer illeterate. I never had internet access at the office, but after spying a bit got one colleques password and got her blocked.

Now I ask this question : I am the IT woman in the office, but don't have internet and have the slowest computer? My company sucks. Come 2006 I need a new job.:o

Majority of the people (95%) don't even know how the internet works. And I figure MyADSL don't take up much server space, so why block it?

And you know when people call you over and tell you the digits on the right hand side don't work and all you do is go over and push numlock, that is what i have to deal with:confused:

Who controls the servers? Sureley if ure the IT woman you can just unblock the access, or go speak to the main admin, tell that person to view the site, i think they may like it.

Well Xeno ....

i work for one of the larger ISP's and our access is severly censored .....
and me being in the engineering dept ..... you'd expect the engineers
so be able to browse wherever they want .....

Nope, anything i wanna do I have to run through my branch manager and she would not be very happy with this site cause she ain't very bright (but is very fat). Even if I wanna reset a password I first have to get permission from her (but no problems with me opening up cases and telling them what's wrong:mad: )

PS. Don't you just love my poetry.

The issue is more likely the time you spend on MyADSL, not any "space". You presumably have an employment contract with working hours stated - your employer expects you to work, not indulge your hobbies. You are obliged in any event to spend your working hours working in the best interests of your employer ( basic conditions of employment ), and sitting reading MyADSL is probably not likely to fit in with that.

Stealing passwords = instant dismissal where I work.

hmmm, your job sounds a lot like Telkom...

"Dear valued customer, it appears you have attempted to transmit data through your modem. Here at Telkom, it is our policy to stop all outgoing traffic from client's computers, as it encourages rampant misuse of our outragesouly overpriced and underserviced internet accounts. Please refrain from doing this in future, and thank-you for your continued support of our company."

It is like this. I used to work on this one desk that kept me working late till eleven at night. Then they moved me over to another desk and I get all my work done by about 11 am in the morning. And considering I used to work till 11 and noone asked me during the day for more work I am not returning the favour. So therefore myadsl here i am.:p
