Blood Pressure...

FWIW it's difficult to relax when you're under stress.

Stressors include, but is not limited to :
- financial income
- expenses
- job security
- picking up the slack for other people at work
- traffic jams, especially when you're in a hurry
etc etc etc...

I try to relax in such situations, but it's not easy... :(

Went to the Italiano Festival at the Italian Club in Bedfordview and had plenty of vino and caffe corretto (espresso and grappa). My BP is 111/71 and 70 hbp.

120/80
Exactly the same every time I gave blood for the last twenty years.
(Always went for a beer after donating because I got better value from a pint with a reduced blood volume)

Sorry to hear that :(

For me it do work. Maybe you're just one of the "special few" ...

BP at the mo' : 126/81, 73bpm
Off BP pills for a while now, is monitoring.

Just a bit of follow up:
So after the failed pepper experiment, ...been looking at other natural alternatives...as my juicing routine, was only cutting it...to a certain point...came across how essential magnesium is in the whole regulation of blood pressure...anyway, will not bore with detail...bought a R66 tub of calcium magnesium..1/2 teaspoon in the morning...hour before my meds, and 1/2 teaspoon in the evening with my veggie juice...and bang...my bp is now in the range of 125/75...where before I was happy with a reading of 135/85...so all in all, and R16k later...all it was I had a magnesium deficiency!!

I've been monitoring my blood pressure for the past year or two, as I have some hereditary risk and like to keep an eye on these things.

Losing some weight made a difference, though I have no idea whether weight or LCHF foods themselves have affected my BP more.

Average BP at >100kg with normal foodstuffs: 123 / 74 @ 59 bpm
Average BP at <90kg with LCHF: 113 / 73 @ 69 bpm

Weird how diastolic is so consistent, and quite interesting how the 10 from my systolic just seems to have popped over onto my bpm! Is this a typical change?

Hey guys,

Just wanting to know...
I'm 31yrs old - is 142/88 bad?

Nurse said it was a bit high.

I'm not working in a very stressful job - so not related to that
Though am having increased anxiety from relationship issues...

Maybe -too much salt in ones diet?

Is it okay to pop Disprin regularly (aspirin) - my dad swears by it... (hes got High BP)

thanks

Nope, Disprin won't help with high BP.

You will need to cut out salt in your diet.

The recommended course of action would be to see a doctor, and get medication. Then work on lowering your BP while taking the meds.

Kidney failure is not a laughing matter.

All Disprin does is make your blood thinner. Which means it won't clot easily. The problem with this is if you cut yourself, then the cut will bleed for a long while before the blood can clot enough to stop bleeding.

edit :142/88 is a bit over borderline, it needs to be looked at.

125/85 seems to certainly be stress related. Cos my eating and drinking habits haven't changed much.
