Blood Pressure...

I would recommend to stop taking cayenne pepper until I get clarity about my health issue. Today is the 10'th day that I have had severe upper stomach pains that radiate to my back.
I have since researched excessive intake of cayenne pepper and see it can affect the pancreas and kidneys.
Going for blood and sonar tests on Tuesday and will ask the Gastro Doc about this. Will post back.

I'm also not convinced cayenne pepper will do the trick.

EDIT: You could have pancreatitis maybe (perhaps not caused by the cayenne pepper)

I went to a biokineticist last week and my bp was 140/100 which ain't good. Couldn't work out if it was from coffee or what... thinking of getting a bp monitor to keep an eye on it, any suggestions? Do the R400 clicks ones work ok?

Are you taking any medication for the blood pressure?

I've never had high bp. It has always been pretty spot on, hence my concern.

From what I can understand, it can set it at a certain time/age, and that's it. Like with my mother. Never had high BP, now she has. For no apparent reason.

Yeah I have heard that to. My dad has very high bp so he has been on meds for years.

Best to take regular checks for piece of mind. It could've just being a bad day

Yeah shot, will definitely be buying a home monitor.

Do yourself a favor and also keep a diary of your BP once you get the home monitor. Note detalis such as time, changes in diet etc... Also dont take only one reading.

Its funny how I missed this thread.

Anyhow, I was diagnosed in 2007 with HBP, took meds and in 2013 added some more meds and last year had the shock of my life when at a random medical at work the nurse was shocked I'm still walking around. BP was 185/120. Went to a GP, he recommended I change my lifestyle (he punted LCHF) and put me on more meds. I followed his recommendation.

I usually only check my BP once every few weeks now. I have one of those R400 Clicks monitors. My usual readings are in the region of 140/90, mostly under.

I'm on a ton of meds, Lisinopril 10mg (am), Zartan 100 (am), and Carloc (2x per day). I feel much better than a year ago when I had constant headaches.

I tend to check my sugar more regularly. Probably because it's easier to prick ones finger than to get out the BP machine, sit down for a few minutes and do the test. I should actually check my BP more regularly. I'll do a check tonight and report back.

I won't go for a lifestyle and diet change. I eat fairly healthy and balanced to begin with. Besides, it may not even make a difference if you do.

So I checked my BP a few days after this post. I actually had a very stressful day that day. My BP reading was 136/84.

I must also add that I am a type 2 diabetic and was on insulin for 7 years. I have stopped using insulin about 3 months ago because of this LCHF diet.

To prevent blood pressure from rising you have to eat health, exercise, avoid things that will stress you and also live your life to the fullest by not minding people around you of what they are saying to you because they always be talking no matter what

Or just live an average life and keep it under control with medication.

Lol in some cases high BP is genetic.... doesnt matter how healthy I eat or how much I exercise or how much stress I avoid, if I dont manage it with meds I wont see 40.

Blood Pressure has been behaving the last while. Two weeks ago, started getting dry cough fits, at around 2am. My ACE class of meds, the most likely suspect. Thought would be able to power through it...nope, not gonna do that...come 1pm and I am in a rather tired mood. Seeing my doctor this afternoon.
