Bluetooth speaker advice - gift for techy boyfriend

Nope I have them and they last for that duration at a very reasonable volume (which is freaking loud). So don't talk k#k.
Aaa yes, my mistake. 2600mAh is actually big. As is a 1L Uno turbo actually P03s vinnig.

It might last longer than the MI, I dint know, don't have a Sony. But same SMALL battery.

I don't have the Xiaomi's , but I guess they work the same as the Sony's.

These are the ones I have. One speaker sounds really good, but pairing them in stereo makes a MASSIVE difference. I think you can actually add more to make a complete surround sound.

OH. The battery life is about 11 hours.

IC doesn't seem to stock them anymore but I've added a [second] MI to my TA cart.

I don't have an issue with the battery life. It's better than I expected given the price tag.

Budget?

JBL flip 6 if you want something small with great sound.

Xiaomi Mi Portable Bluetooth Speaker (16W) of you are looking for something cheaper.

This seems to be the consensus. Also 2 Xiaomi can be paired to create stereo sound.

At 50 Watts RMS that's some serious sound power for a portable speaker!

PS: I support the previous inputs regarding the Xiaomi. They are incredibly cheap for what you get. 1 alone works well. 2 of them paired give fantastic sound...

Just ordered a second MI off takealot. On sale for R650.

I got 2 of these. Awesome. Can't go wrong.

Sound quality it’s either JBL the legit one or Anker … for both Sound quality and Controls … even the price …

I don’t see much on Takealot everything is overpriced to what I can see …

I normally dislike Bose as overpriced pretend audiophile stuff but their Bluetooth speakers are excellent.

Pricey though.

Bluetooth for me is a substandard thing BUT having said that, for Bluetooth i would go with the JBL stuff since its generally built well and should last with a fair amount of durability but when sound quality is the main thing and not volume levels then i would go with the alternative but that's just me - the thing is though for Bluetooth speakers you will search long and hard to find better than the JBL and probably will pay a lot more for better .... so for Bluetooth just actually stick to JBL

when you are after hi fidelity stereo specialist stuff then definitely IMHO go for the alternative because in that instance JBL is boomy and peaky and creates a fuzzy sound quality - and all that doesn't matter for Bluetooth because due to its nature and transfer rates Bluetooth is hardly close to being hi fidelity (maybe the better bluetooth codecs are closer to Hi-Fi quality though but those are all generally expensive items ..... still not something i would really want in my Hi-Fi system) but for outdoors and parties and situations where you just want lots of loud music JBL is actually great
