Bok emblem up for discussion? (again)

It only means nothing to you, we are tolerant about you being gay, why can you not also exhibit some tolerance? It’s not just about the Springbok name and emblem, it’s more a question of the straw that broke camels back, why is there the need to eradicate everything old, not all symbols are racist or related to apartheid.

^^^^ Because of that post.

Just ignore Pooky, he's only here to cause trouble.

I think it's a bloody stupid idea to apply a uniform brand across all sporting codes. Which idiot came up with that idea. Cricket and rugby have built up their respective brands over DECADES and are known the world over and these baboons will destroy that in one months time? I don't think so!

Oh and Pooky, please shut your mouth if you can't say anything good.

I was asking DJK why he should have to 'tolerate" gay people, as in, why should he not treat them as another forumite and not as a "gay" person.

WTF would you ask me? And what does that have to do with our national emblem?

This is so shocking, how can the ANC remove the Sprinkbok emblem? Even they admitted in the past how 1995 Rugby Cup helped to unite South Africa.

@Pooky it has a deeper meaning than just a logo. It is a symbol of pride for many of us. Myself included

I'm confused...if they all have the same emblem how will we identify(cant think of a better word now) the different teams?
I mean the rugby team will be called the Proteas, The cricket team will be called the Proteas and i presume the soccer team will be called the Proteas.
Doesn't make any sense at all i tell ya!

If everyone here has to be really honest with themselves, then we all know the springbok emblem should go!

In all fairness, it is an open secret that the Bulls won the last world cup, and in all fairness, the springbok emblem should be replaced with the Bulls emblem...

Not to tread on anyones toes, but facts are facts!

Liefling kan ons nie maar vergeet en vergewe
Liefling ek kan nie sonder jou verder lewe
Dit weet jy goed

whahahaha, did you watch the game?

11 Sharks - A. van den Berg didn't play

11 Bulls - G. Botha, W. van Heerden and W. Julies didn't play

(as far as I can recall anyway .... might be wrong)

Dude, all it takes is one Bull to win the match for the soon to be ex springboks (Brian, Victor, you choose) the 11 sharks are needed to well, erm, I'm not sure, polish their boots, bring drinks????

Chorus

Nou is die tyd moenie wag
Want ek verlang elke dag
Hier is my hart neem dit nou
Hier is my hart net vir jou

Jy weet dat ek nie sonder jou kan bestaan nie
Jy weet dat jy ook nie alleen kan bestaan nie
Dit weet jy goed

Chorus

Liefling jy weet

Tell you what then. If the Bulls make it to the final, would you be happy for them to field a 1 man team against 11 sharks in that case?

Lets assume that the Sharks get there first, but say they do, then you obviously have to make it fair, because whats the point then?

I say if you tie one hand behind the Bulls player's back and blindfold him as well, then heck, why not, game on!!!

I think the South African public should be allowed to vote on if the emblem must stay or go.

Is well know the air is thin up there, so we'll forgive you for this :D

Guys guys guys guys

Chill, not even the government can change the emblem if they wanted to ;)

1. They have tried this a 100 times and they lost every time.
2. The Springbok emblem is a trademark worth Millions and Millions of Rands/Dollars/Pounds
3. This will hurt SA rugby by stay away action so hard that it will drive Rugby into oblivion.

The Government have tried 100's of times to change it, but they cant SARFU is a Public enterprise and the emblem belongs to them. They can only change it if SARFU agrees, and that will never happen. And the stupid ANC ****ers haven't realized it yet.

Stop getting your panties in a twist guys, relax. This is just something to try and get some reaction out of the SA public

I don't care any more. I am tired of being spat on every five seconds by people with an axe to grid. Have these twits nothing better to do?

At least we are in the process of completing our paperwork to get the f..k out.

Personally I think it good if they replace the Springbok, because with all the meddling in Rugby we will not win another world cup. So if they do replace the bok with the protea (and I will ****ing put my fist through the first Aussie's mouth that dares to say "'Tea's") then at least the bok's reputation as world cup champions will remain unscathed. The 'Boks are legends, and despite not having the support of a few dim-witted politicians, the money was in the Boks.

As for transformation in sport, yeah, good showing - look where that policy got the non-handicapped olympians
