Bonded ADSL service introduced by OpenWeb

Question:

Do we have to move our lines to openweb?
Will there be a Uncapped bonded option?
Can we see some speed & latency tests please Mr Beep?
Oh and is it shaped or unshaped?

I belive its just the initial router costs, R 1800 for 2 line and R 2500 for 3 or 4 lines once off. Then the usual cost of adsl from them. Brilliant idea really!

Well done to Openweb for expanding their product offering.

nice offering pitty about IS. if you have this service IS will put you in their top 10,top 20 in no time and throttle you to death

I suppose the price does not include the 2 (or more) ADSL Line rentals ? That makes it quite bit more expensive.

Except that this is not uncapped, but rather a capped service.
ADSL data packages – 30GB at R1,499 and 50GB at R1,999.

Wonder if it’s true bonding or just load balancing

Well, from what the article says, I take it that this applies, but I stand under correction:

2/4 lines going into the router, gets a single IP thanks to the VPN.... essentially that's going to end up as a bonded connection.
Regular load balancing doesn't work in every situation.

For it too work we need uncongested DSLAM, otherwise
customers will complain that they do not get their advertised speeds

I am sure DSLAM congestion is in the T&C's

Actually that's covered in Telkom's definition of the ADSL service as a best effort service.
