bonus any one ?

13th Cheque by law! bwahaha Mauritius definitely have priorities in order (with 7% tax as well)

Suspect I'm too young in the new company to get a bonus, and missed bonus month in the old company by 1 month. It's all good since my salary increased by around 225%.

Nope, no bonus, and no more non-inflation increases either. Organisational red tape FTL. I do earn quite well though, and invest most of it, so my bonus is the share dividends I'll earn next year.

Doubt that it is. I know a few big corporates that do just that.
My company has this option and they are a multi-national. Normal 12 paychecks or 13. Same total amount/tax etc for both options.
Some people want the 'bonus' for holiday shopping.

Nothing this side - and not sure if there will be anything.

I suspect not though.

Yip we might be working for the same company.

You must have a serious amount of shares if the dividends will be that much?

Some people are bad at financial planning or don't understand the issues with a 13th cheque. Like resigning in September and not getting that portion of your money that technically should be owed to you. Or the fact that the money is sat in your company's account earning them interest, instead of your own.

I detest the 13th cheque salary model, to the extent that if a company that offered me a job, operated this way and were not willing to change me to a 12 cheque pay model, I would turn down the job.

I've been trying to convince staff that the better payment model is annually in arrears. That way we have to do payroll once a year only, and they get to budget at last year's prices, which encourages thrift. No-one's biting.
