Since we kind of hijacked the Unotelly thread I thought I would start this one.

It's frustrating for the service to be down but a DDoS attack isn't their fault and they at least gave everyone 1 month free to aplogise.

This is what they had to say about the matter:

Thanks all of you for sticking with us, it has been quite the weekend.
So /u/zippy-borderless and I (The primary nerds behind borderless) and /u/mchamp55 (our operations manager) all decided this would be a good weekend to take our families camping and get unplugged a bit. Then /u/Nicolau4 (The guy most likely to reply to support@) decided it would be a good weekend to head over to Vancouver with his wife as well!

The bad guys could not have picked a "better" weekend to pull this crap.
Nothing like waking up at 5am to my phone going mad and echoing throughout a trailer while trying not to wake the snoring 6 year old that crawled in with the wife and I a few hours earlier. Then tethering my laptop to my cell phone and hoping the signal holds. For a few hours yesterday I was literally working from a picnic table with my computer and phone plugged into a small generator we had borrowed lol.

So what are we doing to avoid this in the future? Distribution... Wide distribution. We are spinning up DNS servers in more places, and moving our account and recipe systems on to networks that can absorb massive DDoS attacks. Once we are done this later this week, you will have many DNS options and the bad guys would have to hit us with Thor's own hammer to take the service down.

Again, we apologize to everyone for not properly anticipating how ****ty script kiddies can be. We were so focused on getting new regions spun up and getting the recipe system out that we failed to do some basic housekeeping. Lesson learned.

Any feedback if one can access Netflix (USA) on this service? :)
 
Neither confirm nor deny.
They have a free trial.
 
Have used Unotelly, smartdnsproxy, Borderless and Getflix. Best of the lot so far is borderless. Worst is Unotelly. It works, but streaming grinds to a halt when using it. Currently testing Getflix. End of the month my trial will have run out, then I have to pay up. Borderless shoulf get my money.
 
They just added Mexico for any Spanish speaking people out there.

This service really is awesome and their support is excellent. Netflix works in almost every region as well :)
 
Will give them another try. Playmo only opens up US for now. (but it does it hassle free).

Because both the DNS and site are currently offline.
 
Noob question...

What difference does the type of US selection make. Germany/Netherlands/NE/Pac/SE for Netflix?
 
Any tips on getting a roku 3 to work with Borderless?

I'm running through a tp-link router, DNS is setup and when I check IP from web browser there aren't any issues. Roku can't establish a connection however, just get stuck on checking connection.

Static routing is setup on 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.

If you choose United States (From Germany) your traffic will be routed through their server in Germany etc.

The best for us in SA is either Germany or Netherlands as they are the closest to us.

When did you try, they have been up and down the last couple of days due to DDoS attacks.

Also add static routes for these IP's:

IP: 108.175.32.0 Subnet: 255.255.240.0 (or /20) Gateway: (use the IP address of your router) THIS MAY BREAK LOCAL REGION NETFLIX - ONLY ADD IF NOTHING ELSE WORKS
IP: 198.38.96.0 Subnet: 255.255.224.0 (or /19) Gateway: (use the IP address of your router)
IP: 198.45.48.0 Subnet: 255.255.240.0 (or /20) Gateway: (use the IP address of your router)

Thanks for the feedback, think it's related to ddos at this stage.

Left my routing as is, put playmo dns settings in and it worked fine.

Will try borderless later again.

Also having issues getting the Roku to work. PC works 100% but the Roku won't even load to the main menu anymore (prior to that it was struggling to stream).

I've emailed their support so hopefully I get an answer.
