Borderless Internet feedback and general discussion.

My roku is working fine.
My router intercepts all dns queries outbound and services them itself.

Do a factory reset on your Roku with the DNS settings on your router.
No, my roku is already set up for us from the get go. Works fine with playmo and getflix with just dns updates. No resets required.

Borderless kills it through.

Received some feedback from BI. Getting a Roku to work on their service is hit-and-miss but could potentially be resolved if you are able to apply firewall rules on your router to sort out the Google DNS lookup (not the same as just routing it).

Roku will be fully supported when they launch the next phase of their offering which is their VPN solution.

For now, I've gone over to Getflix, which works 100%.

If you choose United States (From Germany) your traffic will be routed through their server in Germany etc.

The best for us in SA is either Germany or Netherlands as they are the closest to us.

Thanks SA.

Another question... what does the remove ip address button do other than the obvious?

Thanks SA.

You use it for when your IP changes, like when you restart you modem, it will then simply remove the previous IP associated with Borderless Internet.

Also for other users and potential users if you didn't know Borderless Internet allows you to have multiple IP's on your account, if I'm not mistaken I remember it allows you to have 4 IP's.

Borderless Internet has also launched a new recipe store giving users easy access to other sites and services.

The above video is just an explanation, the actual store is populated with service like BBC iPlayer with downloading, AMC, CBS etc.

What roku issues? Mine works fine

Mine won't connect using Borderless DNS. Irrespective of which, if you read the Unotelly thread it seems BI, Playmo and Getflix are not being targeted as well.

I really think the Roku issue is a you issue not a they issue even though they did contact you about the VPN.

I think if you just add all of the IP's on the null routing list and make sure they work by pinging them after you add them it should work. If you ping 8.8.8.8 from your PC it shouldn't respond then you know it's working.

Code:
If there is room for a "metric", use the number 2.
Network Address: 8.8.8.8 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.255 Gateway: (use the IP address of your router)
Network Address: 8.8.4.4 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.255 Gateway: (use the IP address of your router)
IP: 108.175.32.0 Subnet: 255.255.240.0 (or /20) Gateway: (use the IP address of your router) THIS MAY BREAK LOCAL REGION NETFLIX - ONLY ADD IF NOTHING ELSE WORKS Thanks /u/raventric
IP: 198.38.96.0 Subnet: 255.255.224.0 (or /19) Gateway: (use the IP address of your router)
IP: 198.45.48.0 Subnet: 255.255.240.0 (or /20) Gateway: (use the IP address of your router)
IP: 185.2.220.0 Subnet: 255.255.252.0 (or /22) Gateway: (use the IP address of your router)
IP: 23.246.0.0 Subnet: 255.255.192.0 (or /18) Gateway: (use the IP address of your router)
IP: 37.77.184.0 Subnet: 255.255.248.0 (or /21) Gateway: (use the IP address of your router)
IP: 45.57.0.0 Subnet: 255.255.128.0 (or /17) Gateway: (use the IP address of your router)

My roku's network test under Netflix settings/help does not work, but actually watching content is perfect.

Possibly, I'll go fiddle with the routing again. Comparison remains that I can change nothing other than the dns and playmo and getflix work perfectly fine. Input BI dns and roku is dead

Maybe it was one of the days BI had the DDoS attacks, go fiddle and please report back.

Also just to let the other forumites know I did contact the founder of BI and this was his response

I would love to join that forum but I can't get past the regional knowledge test to register. What is the surname of Juju who??

:p

I have since been in contact with him again with the answer and once he joins I will contact him again to help him get official representative status.

Have they come up with an easy method to automatically update your IP address?

Pfsesne can do it using GET or POST to auto update the slot at Borderless Internet. Maybe also a windows client works as it is just a java script.

So I just signed up for borderless Internet and setup the DNS on my router, did a restart on router and everything seems fine.

I then restarted my roku and it won't load. The normal roku splash screen starts and then blank screen. It only loads fully when I unplug the lan cable from the roku.

Anyone else experience this issue? It seems as if something is wrong but on the borderless site it says everything perfect?

Any help would be great.

Welcome to my world, but apparently it isn't a BI problem.
