Boy iOS 7 sucks

I agree with you. I have a iPad 3 with iOS7 and if I open the App Store, right in the middle is a row of new apps with a "See All" link on the far right. Touching that link opens a page called "Best New Apps" with options to categorise according to Name, Release Date and the default Featured. Works perfectly fine for me.

However, the actual responsiveness of iOS7 on the iPad 3 is not exactly butter smooth. I played with an iPad Air the other day and it was amazingly quick. My iPad 3 is sluggish at times when opening apps, typing, paging through PDF's etc. The iPad Air is awesome but I can't justify upgrading, yet.

It gives you "Best New Apps". I want to see them all, per category of course. In iOS 5 you could choose category and then select e.g. games and then sort by date, there was a button for that. You would then see 60,000+ apps and you could browse the latest ones. :)

I don't understand this.

I have an iPad 2 and until this week had an iPhone 4S and both run flawlessly with iOS 7.

There must be something specific going on that causes all this stuff.

iPad 2 has more or less the same processor as iPad 3. But iPad 3 has to repaint more pixels.

Yes, iOS 7 does suck...big time. My iPad 2 and mini now battle to open large pdf documents in Goodreader. My iPad/mini/iPhone are slow - typing sometimes results in stuttering of my input.
The interface is ugly - less is NOT more Johnny Ive

iOS 5 was a lot better - rather than getting better, it seems new versions of iOS are getting worse. I have only mentioned a few of my gripes with iOS, there are many

Apple have the best mobile hardware, but their software sucks. In an ideal world, I would have an iPad mini retina run with Android KitKat or Jellybean

I challenge you to use a 1000+ page pdf on any other device( including the all so loved nexus) and compare it to ios and we can talk about getting real and what a real device should act like.

OP: I hear you on the Ipad 3, I had one for a while then got so frustrated with it that I eventually switched to android and then I switched back to an Ipad mini retina. I dunno what it is about the ipad 3 but it just sucked for no apparent reason at all? Yes the app store is daft along with many of the changes in ios 7 it's like apple has no imagination anymore.

Challenge accepted:

Each to their own - no doubt - but I'd warrant that one would have to be more specific. Whereas iOS 7 was (in retrospect) laggy on my iPhone 4s (although hardly noticeably) - and to an even lesser extent, on my iPad 2 - it's greased lightning on my iPad Air and 5s... But can one honestly be annoyed by that? Surely it's tantamount to running Win 8 on a machine designed for XP? iOS was a big step up, and whereas it worked on almost all of the devices - it's obviously going to work better on the new hardware, performance wise.

Your point about the interface being ugly, is linked to your opinion of that interface. And if you think it's ugly - then it is - to you. Took me a while, but with all the apps now having updated to iOS 7 design as well - working on the old iPad 1 feels like trip back into the dark ages. Of course - that's *my* opinion.

Having said that - I honestly cannot fathom how people could still claim that iOS 5 is "better". But there are clearly plenty who do - if similar threads on international forums are anything to go by... But they are becoming fewer and further between, so guess the hullabaloo is gradually fading.

7.1 is a vast improvement on 7.0.4. I'm running b3 on iPad 3,4, iPad air and iPhone 5c. Also jailbroken and running hiddensettings 7 with animation override set to .20 and reduce motion on!! Very nippy, very stable...

7.0.4 is slightly undercooked (Tim)?

As much as iOS7 is a bit of a dog, I wouldn't trade my iPad 4 for any Android tablet, not at the moment, maybe the Galaxy NotePRO 10.1, but that's it. Android tablets still lack refinement and optimization for apps that's why I left my Galaxy Tab10.1.

I've turned On Reduced Motion on my iPad 4 on iOS7.0.4, and so far so good, it's running beautifully. :)

Boy, iOS sucks. I permit myself the luxury of not using correct grammar and syntax in non-professional settings.

To be fair, performance will be addressed in the next iOS release. Also, the iPad 3 sucks, it was unfortunately not powerful enough to cope with the retina display which is why it was replaced quite quickly.

It better improve. I bought my first Apple device 2 weeks ago (iPad Air) and I am not impressed. Setting aside annoyance like not knowing which keyboard an app will bring up, I find it crashes a lot. Open a few tabs on Chrome and bam, it crashes. I think Apple should have done more rather than release what seems like a Beta version.

Nonsense. They changed the port that's all.
