That's never made sense to me.
What, buttering on the outside? Prevents sticking and also gives it a nicer colour when heats is applied.

I've never had it either. We always buy those packaged braai rolls that you toast or garlic bread. Can't wait to try this.
Oh are you guys referring to rooster brood or just toasted sandwiches?

yeah always ready made ...now i see its like a toasted sarmie
No, I mean buttering the inside. I see so many people do this and don't understand why.

When you try this remember to have the coals on low heat or raise the grid else they will burn very quickly, you want them to stay on for quite a while so they become nice and crunchy.
If you use a weber move your coals to one halve of the braai and put the sarmies on the opposite site and put the lid on, they will go crunchy but not get enough brown colour, once crunchy you can move them over the coals but watch them carefully as they brown very quickly and easily burn if left too long. Just flip regularly once over the coals.
Lol! My favourite is even plainer than that: Tomato and onion only, seasoned with salt and ground pepper, bread buttered on both sides. I actually prefer it to the meat!Such a simple thing to enjoy, so don't come here with all your fancy stuffs:
Kaas + Tamatie + Uie + Knoffel en iets wat brand. Finish en klaar. Nikse se ge-bacon en blue cheese nonsens nie.

Ok. Best cheese for this? Or will any type do?
